interior led vanity lights

hello all,

does anyone know how.. or what to change in order to control led vanity light timeouts above the visors?

people say its "power draw" or "sense" driven to trigger on, could be but...

my issue with it is... its going off way too soon(timing out) :wall:

anyway, thanks in advance for anyone to test and maybe finding the code.

Hidden menu 2G and Seat mem

Hello
I'm new to this forum and very grateful for this info that all of ypou provides.
Very helpful!

I have two questions re A5 2008 Coupe 3.0 TDI Q
I cant enable the Hidden meny as described.
When I tried to do the below the 07 Control head unit does not respond.

Enable Hidden menu in MMI 2G

[07 - Control Head]
[Adaptation - 10] -> Channel 8 -> Change 0 to 1

I do could access the hidden menu options via the Ross-tech app from my PC and disable/enable whats in the hidden menu.
But it would had been nice to enable it in the car GUI.

Secondly, I enabled the seat memory and that showed up in the MMI in my car GUI. However, the keys dosent reckognise this. I have done as described above but nothing happend.

Thanks for the response in advance :)

This is an amazing thread, just bought an S5 and love it, wish I had something like this for my old car instead of searching the Internet for endless hour's.. great work!

Hi,

Can someone point me in the right direction.

I have seen 'Enable LEDs remain bright for parking lights' what is the exact code change for this, I can't find it in the list?

I hope/presume this will mean that my DRLs stay at full brightness even with the Xenons turned on?

Thanks for any guidance.

Module 09 - Central Electronics
Security Access – 16 – Code 20113
Adaptation - 10 --> Channel 63

change the value (between 5 and 100)
default value = 9
a value below 5 causes the LED's to go off
this gives an error in DIS

Thanks fred44nl!

Guys I have a pre fl model 3.0tdi with B&O system.
I done my first mod by enabling the hidden menu and adding the battery meter and footwell light dimming 👍👍.
The question i have is can you get the stereo to turn down automatically when reversing? Is there an option for this.
Handy as its in my wifes vw touran.
I have 2g hi mmi.
Cheers as been reading this post all 40 pages and not seen anything.
Cheers

I don't think you need to code anything to do it - I can't remember where the setting is in MMI but sure it's covered in the manual. I know there's separate volume controls for front and rear parking sensors and also a setting to reduce the audio to when parking sensors are active, so using that logic it's probably hidden under audio settings somewhere.

I don't remember it being difficult to find when I set it up on ours but that was in July!

cheers will have a look.
I done the front and rear volume but never found a setting to lower when parking sensors active.
Update
Been and had a look nope not there.
I found this.........

http://www.a5oc.com/forums/a5-general-q/9120-reversing-lowering-volume-system-2.html

Select 'Car Set Up' MMI button
Select reversing sensor - first option in list, which presents 3 options:
Frequency
Volume
In-Car Entertainment Fader - adjust this one to your required volume level. (This option not on mines) (2G MMI APS Plus.)
Thread #40 form link
Definitive answer is :

APS (only rear sensors) lower volume works automatically,

APS plus (front and rear):
MMI 2G: it doesn't , even if you change coding of 07-Head unit
MMI 3G, Symphony radio, etc: it does, you can find it in car menu

Any ideas as folks say even with the Vag com change still not working??

Thanks

I don't know if it will work but you could try looking in the hidden menu?

There would be a box to tick under carmenuoperation to enable the option on the mmi parking system options list.

I won't have time to check on this until the weekend!

I think that menu is 3G MMI as that is not on my menu?

hidden menu for MMI-2G

1. Select module 07 - Control Head in VAG- COM/VCDS
2. Select “Adaptation – 10"
3. Select channel 8
4. Change value to 1
5. Click on Test
6. Click Save
7. Click on “Done, Go Back” and "Close Controller"
8. Restart of MMI is not necessary, press first on SETUP
and immediately after that on CAR. Hold both keys down for about 6 secs.

Excuse the dumb question but does anyone know how much of this can be done via the hidden menu without using a VAGCOM?

And is there a sort of translation guide for the Hidden Menu? Some things are obvious, but there's several that I just wouldn't know what they'd do! (Won't be touching them yet!)

But for example I can check / uncheck "lane assist" - but I don't know what it would do or show when turned on?

in order to use the hidden menu, this has to be made available with VCDS/VagCom.
don't think there is some sort of guide for the options in the hidden menu.
if you were to check e.g. lane assist and you don't have the hardware for it, this will most likely produce an error, somewhere.
in short: the hidden menu is not something one should play with.

So you'd recommend doing everything through the VAGCOM instead of playing with the Hidden Menu then?

I have it activated, so just wondered if there was stuff I could do. E.g. I did manage to check the compass which I now have on the Nav - don't think it was there before!

I recommend not to play with the hidden menu, nor with VagCom.
I'd find something else to play with :talk2hand:
