And then popped in to see Peter Altena @ Autostyle. As I'd had some custom work done to fit the subwoofer he had to cut a custom template to do the mat for the passenger footwell. Did a great job - if you guys need any mats doing he is your man.

Hey Cuppa,

Great mods - I love the coin and gum holders, where did you get them from??

Are they Audi or aftermarket??

How much and where from??

Cheers Pal

Jim
Search ebay for 'Genuine Audi Centre Console Ashtray' and that is the small one - not cheap though. Can see them cheaper sometimes.

Large one I got on ebay, search for item 110882355480. That one cost me ÂŁ30 + P&P

Ordered Ashtray (large) off fleabay!!

Thanks for the heads up ;-)

Cheers

Jim

Very nice :) How do you rate the Capristo? Did you get the manual valved option? You need to put up a video of this
A fair bit of work being done so I don't get it back until Wednesday :wall:

Doug posted some photos on Facebook. It's on, but not sure it's been configured yet for the backpressures I need for the charger. The S5 comes with both the programmable unit (3 modes and can be adjusted to user defined back-pressure) and the remote control to force the valves open if you want to rumble about all the time.

I looked at the metalwork/finish before I left and it looked like a piece of art to me. Hopefully sound as nice. And yes, I'll put up a video.

Nice work on the build, car looks like she's a great example of smart choices, I am truly jealous.

Looks great ;)

See you've listed the ARB kit but have you thought about coilovers or springs? If you're serious about using the power and getting on track this is a must for such a heavy car. Not my money to spend but if I were in your shoes I'd seriously consider getting a set of coilovers that have variable adjustable height and damping settings (e.g. KW variant 1 or 2's). You'll then need to get them setup by someone that really knows what they are doing to get the car balanced well but once you do it's light years apart from the stock setup ;)

Coilovers (probably KW) are on the wish list, just not quite yet. I want to get to know the car again after today's installs, do some driver training and then see what I don't like about the current setup so I know what I want in the new setup. Don't really want to lower it at all. Happy enough with the current ride (apart from the roll) for now, but like you say, it's the last bit to do.

So who would you say would be best to set them up?

TBH, handling should be the first rather than last on the list. As I reckon you'll soon find out you can have all the power in the world but if the handling is shit you'll struggle using it in anything other than a straight line which quickly gets pretty boring.

Ideally you need a knowledgable pro driver who can push your car to the limits on track and then tell you what to adjust which you can then pass that info onto a trsuted shop to make the adjustments. It can be a bit hit and miss. I was fortunate that the setup I requested once the coilovers had settled was well received by a few pro drivers so didn't have to do much tweaking. Saying that even with the few small tweaks we did make I could definately fell the benefit. Unfortunately to adjust coilovers on the S5 they need removing so its not a nice job it but if you really want it right you'll bear with it.

Should you leave it until you get used to the current setup again? I'd normal say yes but when it comes to handling I'd lean towards getting it sorted ASAP. Really depends on how how much you intend to learn and progress on track.

BTW, did Minhea sort out your cold start?
