my footwell lights work and i can turn brightness up/down ...did you tick the box's in vcds to enable that bit ?
I've got one of these from Amazon - Seems to have worked fine, allows access just as described. I'd guess it is prob illegal as it isn't an original RossTech cable but they are a couple of hundred quid which is ok for a 'garage' but a bit steep to make your footwell lights illuminate at night ;-)

The main issue I've got is that my car (2013 Cab) doesnt have MMI (mine is Concert with B&O) so am a bit limited and a lot of the changes can only be made by using the cable, not enabling hidden menus (not an option with chorus)

My footwell lights for instance, got them working when driving but no option to change brightness. Fog light as turn indicator/illumination on side of turn, it works but can only turn on and off using cable.

I see wkahn1961 has got remote hood going - You can do this with SmartTop but they are £300 - I'm going to have a go at this tonight. Hope it works on a 2013 cab :)

Yeah I enabled the footwell lighting using the VCDS cable - no option in car menu to alter them though. VCDS added the functionality, I'm guessing my lack of 3G MMI (so no hidden menu options) means I can't change the brightness - Weirdly the drivers side seems brighter but it might be my trainers glowing :) Looks good but you can only see them in true darknness, (not streetlights)

Managed to get the one below to work on the windows now. is there a way to make it work on the cab roof to lower that?

Enable Remote Operation Windows and Sunroof

[46 - Cent. Conv.] [Coding - 07] -> [Long Coding Helper] Byte 2
Bit 2 - Set to 1
Are you trying to get the top up and down? See below. I had to fiddle with another setting to get my '14 to recognize it.

Ok... I FINALLY got this to accept on my '14 A5 vert. If you get stuck at the 07 - change Byte 2 bit, cancel, cancel, Close Controller.
[46 - Cent. Conv.] [Coding - 07] -> [Long Coding Helper] Byte 2, make sure Bit 1, Bit 2 & Bit 3 = 1. Do it! NOW, go back and on VCDS you go to Module 5 - which is Access/Start Authorization, then Coding 07 - change Byte 2 to 00001111.

It saved and the remote works for the top. WOOT! :2thumbsup:

so did a little more playing tonight. does this code enable what is in the picture below

Enable DIS with Efficiency Program for MY2010+ (Not a complete Program without the Start/Stop System)

[17 - Instruments] [Adaptation - 10] -> Channel 77
change 0 to 255

so, what do you have ??
- MMI-basic - Symphony/Concert radio
- MMI 2G high
- MMI 3G ow or high
I have the bog standard Concert radio (but with B&O amp/speakers) so it is MMI basic. Making some changes in VCDS have made options appear (such as speedo in MMI screen (it calls it Driving School Mode - Enabled) However for other things no menu item apears even though the VCDS switched the option on (Footwell lighting - They are now 'always on' (but dimmed) but I have no menu option in MMI nor can I change the brightness as in VCDS it is just a checkbox to turn function on or off)

Same with fog lights L/R as turn indicator/lighting - only an option in VCDS, not an MMI option.

@BristolUK
did you use this:

Ambient lighting (footwell lighting) MMI menu item in MMI basic
[07 - Control Head]
[Coding - 07]
xxxxx?x
add 2 to the existing value of the 2nd to last digit

and this:
Battery state MMI menu item in MMI basic
[07 - Control Head] [Adaptation - 10] -> Channel 01 add 64 to the existing value

There are successful experiences enable graphical display parking sensors on the MMI.
This method was tested on my A6 and is for informational purposes. Remember that all operations are conducted at your own risk. : Rotate:

The procedure is as follows:
1. Enjoying a block number, which is installed on the machine. It is located right in the A6 for paneling in the trunk, you can not shoot. (See photo).

Block Number: 4F0 910 283. Particular attention is directed to bukovku at the end! If you have C, E or H, then everything is OK (go to step 3), if A is - you need to change the block on N.

2. Buy a box (most modern H) and without any problems for 1 minute install a new one.

3. Making changes in the VAG:
1) Connect the VAG;
2) Select the section 76 (Park Assists);
3) Select the Coding;
4) Change the second number: 2 (0? Xxxxx);
5) Click do it!

4. That's it!
If everything is done and does not work, you must update the software on the MMI (from any dealer for 30 min.).

5. Enjoy!

Info on modules

It only works on certain modules

4F0 919 283 - won't work on all revisions
4F0 919 283 A - won't work on all revisions
4F0 919 283 B - can be enabled using VAGCOM
4F0 919 283 C - can be enabled using VAGCOM
4F0 919 283 D - can be enabled using VAGCOM
4F0 919 283 F - enabled from the factory
4F0 919 283 H - enabled from the factory

It's likely you have one of the first modules that did not support the graphic display.

Here is additional info on the modules:

4F0 910 283 - 4 sensors, no graphical support
4F0 910 283 A - 4 sensors, no graphical support
4F0 910 283 B - 4 sensors, graphical suppor
4F0 910 283 C - 8 sensors, graphical support
4F0 910 283 D - 4 sensors, graphical support
4F0 910 283 E - 8 sensors, graphical support, rear view camera support
4F0 910 283 F - 4 sensors, graphical support, rear view camera support
4F0 910 283 G - 8 sensors, graphical support, rear view camera support
4F0 910 283 H - 8 sensors, graphical support, rear view camera support

Those with back up sensors on C6 A6 cars, just got help on ability to add parktronic graphic via vagcom. Hope this helps others, as it is a nice easy feature to add.

Open Module [76] - Parking Aid

Short Coding:
0?xxxxx: Optical Illustration
0 = without Optical Illustration in Display
2 = with Optical Illustration in Display

Save changes, then enable Graphic display in MMI under the Parking menu. (Click yes when prompted for default work group coding from VCDS)

My oem coding went from 0001206 to 0201206

Nope. Double check you enabled it correcrly
couldn't find what has been done :(

this is what it should be, as far as know:

1. Go to module 10 - Park / Steer assist
2. Security Access - 16 --> accescode is 71679
3. [Coding – 07] --> Long Coding Helper --> Byte 0 - Bit 4 --> check Optical illustration

I followed the instructions at the beginning of this thread and it worked first time. I didn't even have to enable it on the mmi.

Enable Optical rear parking for cars without front parking sensors
[10 - Park/Steer Assist] [16 - Security Access - 71679] do it [07 - Coding] Byte 0 - Bit 4 change 0 to 1

I have a 2010 model so yours should work too. I haven't updated my software yet from 2010 so it can't be an update problem as yours is 2011. Are these the instructions you followed?
