thnxs for reminding to check cause my wife took the car so I hope it adjusted itself. as the car was about 5 to 10m above sealevel

Lauri0112, it says so right in the software version High Nav ;) low/basic would have been BNav

Hello. Just checked and mine starts with HNav, but how do I know If I have the 3g high one and not just the 3g. New to the software side. Anyway, love to get the software. Really missing the video from sd card... View attachment 187582
there is no such thing as "just 3g"
with HNav you have 3G high
the other option would be BNav, which is 3G Basic.

in short, you have 3G High

Yours is compatible with the update. Check the 1st post for the details.

The height and/or gps location can be incorrect on the very first startup after the update, this is normal and does not indicate any problem.
The GPS is automatically re-calibrated as soon as a car goes for a short drive (usually 1km is enough).

Yours is compatible, all good!

Also, since I've gotten some questions about it:
If you have an import car with unit from Korea/Japan/China, you will not see HNav, but something like the picture below.
These units are also compatible and can be upgraded to 3G+ (and also switched to EU/NAR region)!

Just a small update, VIM continued to work after the update without needing to reapply and I've managed to convert videos to play from the SD card. 😎😎😎

Yes, I am able to receive the data from various modules.
However, to see whether it's possible or not possible to do that would require a test car (and would probably depend on different parking module versions/types)
Sorry. Missed this. Well I have such a test car. MMI 3G+

I can send you a specific script, that will record all the data sent by your car modules. Then, I would be able to tell if your parking module signals it has this capability.

This is exactly what I was looking for! Any chance you could pm me (new user so it won't let me send you a message) and hook a guy up with the NAR 3g plus NAV files to do this? Thanks in advance!

DrGer pointed me to a simple method which provides great clear images which do not require a camera or 'phone ... "With a FAT32 SD in slot 1, press and hold the [<<] and [>>] console keys at the same time until the console LEDs start to flash (about 3-5 seconds). This writes a PNG file of the current MMI display to the SD card in slot 1. Preferred for documenting system issues, in my opinion."
Cheers

Amazing !!!
I am from France, owner of a venerable A5 from 2011 with hnav_eu_k0257_6_d1.
Is it possible to get a try to put it on my car ?

Regards

My A5 now has the awesome update as well. All went really smoothly and user mj131 has done an amazing job.
A couple of fast pictures I took, will take more and better pictures soon. Have not installed maps yet, will do that soon.

Had one weird one. After reboot acted normal again.

But after initial startup was working fine(at least the NAV was there) but after a couple of minutes..... dunno for sure getting 2 small children in the car can be a handfull sometimes.

All functions basically shut down and only the phone screen was working normal. not even the radio was working.

Purple screen worked too so rebooted the system and it was fine afterwards. Did not occur again afterwards, but not driving everyday.

about the gps -70 feet, the car was also parked in a city canyon and had not great gps reception and more then likely some reflected hence deeper signal coming in, so no biggie ;)

Other note I keep forgetting to make, one(name) of the two buttons(name and tel) for phone operation on the console has been repurposed to the home screen

That makes sense -- HN+ UI expects a [MENU] button that returns to the top function menu:
--g

Ok, a couple of things I have noticed.
1) On the Audi drive select screen I can not select a driving mode. Buttons work as they should so all good. Buttons are easier to press anyways. I had the buttons retrofitted, maybe that's why?
2) When making a phone call from the steering wheel buttons, the MMI screen does not go to the phone screen but stays on the radio screen and mutes the radio. When dialing a number from the MMI phone screen, it shows the dialing and when the person answers it goes to the radio screen. Maybe that's normal behavior of the 3G+, don't know. 3H high kept the phone screen on the entyre time of the phone call, even if you used the buttons on the steering wheel to make the call.
3) When selecting the air flow direction with the round knob, the display only shows the "dial" with the icon in the middle, but not what each position will do. They are all on the same position than before the update, but you have to turn the know to each position to see what that position will do. Agan, thats probably the way 3G+ works. I dont know. :)

EDIT: The 5th image the ignition is off. When I turn It on it does "go active as in the modes go white" but I cant select any of them.

Little update. One thing I love most about the update is the fact that you finally get the volume bar showing current volume level. That alone is worth the update.
