Hi All,

Just wanted to say thank you to DrGER and Congo for their helpful guides (both of which I referenced as I went) for the assistance with this. I have successfully updated my maps, and my car no longer gets lost on my way to and from work!

Did have to do most of the steps - Update firmware, enable GEM (using script), Update maps (1.5hr+), reboot. wait 5mins, and then 'navigation data is not available' and then activator. Which I spread out over several days... but end result was:
View attachment 187051
and I'm on v. 6.36.0!

For future updates... is it just a case of the large map one, and/or is other parts needed to be repeated?

In the event that Audi releases more ECE navdb updates, since your navdb is not activated properly with an FSC file, you'll need to update manually (with User Defined).

Note that Audi did not add a 2023/2024 version to ETKA in May as they've done regularly up to now, so we'll see if we get any more navdb updates -- we would expect to see version 2024 added to ETKA in December. --g

Install the map, use the activator from very first post and then use the fix provided here.
Enjoy your new map.
Yes,
here is the map link (thanks Byront for that)
And here is prepared fixes:
ANZ 3G+ - 412.3 KB file on MEGA
ME 3G+ (untested yet) 412.4 KB file on MEGA
SA 3GHigh - 412.4 KB file on MEGA
SA 3G+ - 412.4 KB file on MEGA

Install the map, use the activator from very first post and then use the fix provided here.
Enjoy your new map.

Fixes for other parts of the map will be provided on demand
Hi mate, do you know anywhere I can get this now that the link is broken?

I have Audi q5 2015 i change the region from Green menu then the screen stuck in boot logo and can not do any thing but the radio work and media work without any modify my version HN+_EU_AU3g_p767 and nav 8r00600884bn me2 5.6.5 would any one advice or recement professional to pay for him to help me

One question: When we update our mmi, the activator is linked to the firmware and not to the map, is that true? Therefore, the same activator would be valid for several maps, is that true? Thank you.
See my remarks on the topic here: https://www.vwvortex.com/threads/so...om/threads/some-remarks-on-the-mmi3g-navigation-initialization-process.9532680/
The so-called "activator" scripts around since early 2016 actually modify the system software to disable proper nav database activation on MMI3G system, hence, they "work" with any nav database release & region once applied to an MMI3G system. --g

ok thanks.. An example:
MMI 3G HIGH latest and definitive firmware HNav_EU_K0257_6_D1
To update firmware and map to infinite vehicles with MMI 3G HIGH in the future, the same activator will be valid regardless of the map version. Is it correct?

See my response, above: unless you are purchasing the ACTIVATION DOCUMENT for a specific navdb release from an Audi dealer, you are not activating the database. The SD script offered in this and other places disables the normal nav database activation process to allow ANY installed nav database to load and initialize properly. My version of the patch script is known to work on both MMI3G High and Plus systems correctly. You should be careful not to run one of the so-called "activator" scripts intended for HN+ systems on your HNav system. --g

Of course. Scribt only with its corresponding firmware, that's understood. I wanted to say that for any vehicle with MMI 3G High the HNav_EU_K0257_6_D1 with IDENTICAL SCRIBT will be valid regardless of the map versions (age). Thank you.

@vagpanar -- When you disable the normal nav database activation process by the method described by Keldo in early 2016, MMI3G High (HNav) and Plus (HN+) systems will load and initialize any nav database release for your region, regardless of version (age).

The problem here is due to terminology (Keldo and others called this method "activation" so they could sell the solution initially) and implementation (the patch script for HN+ systems should not be used on HNav systems for technical reasons); my simplified implementation of the patch to disable the activation process described by Keldo is common to both High (HNav) and Plus (HN+) systems. Also, updating the nav database release has no affect on the system software, so the activation process stays disabled indefinitely (or until the main unit firmware is reinstalled). --g

ok, your implementation is equally valid for 3G High and 3G+. Note: For successive HNav+ firmware the same script is equally valid. It's right?
Can you send download link?
Second question:
The installation order is indifferent, map first or script first. Is this correct?

@vagpanar -- I don't understand your first question: if you have HNav_EU_K0257_6_D1 software installed, your system has the latest software, so practically, you install the activation disabler patch only once. If a new HNav_EU update is ever released (not likely), the patch change is likely to be overwritten as part of the main unit update, so it will need to be applied again.

Re your second question: order is indifferent, BUT: our experience is that the patch should be run only after the system shows the "nav data is blocked or unavailable" screen. Applying the patch script before the nav database update has certain risks that complicate the navdb update.

My common MMI3G High/Plus patch script is posted HERE. --g

OK thanks. Is the correct file navunblocker-230308.zip? Extracted the zip, the 00readme.txt file can be deleted, is this correct?

Regarding the first question above not understood:
I can use this patch forever (I won't need any other) in 3G Hight (mine and friends) and 3G+ (friends) regardless of their firmware. It's right?

Last question :
For 3G Low I understand that the reasoning is the same and there will be a specific patch. Link?

Thank you very much(y)(y)

@vagpanar -- The patch script is in the ZIP file; the 00readme.txt file is not required for the script to run.

The patch is permanent after it is applied (or until the system software is updated or re-installed). It can be applied to MMI3G High and Plus systems.

Regarding 3G Low/Basic systems, I have no direct experience with these (yet); they were not used in the NAR market. I expect the method to disable navdb activation is the same, but I cannot confirm this assumption. If you have access to one, I could use some help collecting information about its configuration and operating characteristics using my MMI3G Info reporting script. --g
