Can you update firmware whilst driving? I noticed someone say it takes a total of 4hrs to update all 4 firmware and maps.

Does anyone know how long it takes per firmware and what's the consequences of cutting out during an update?

It depends on SD card speed. When I did mine it took around one hour.

Also it's not advisable to drive. Remain stationary and keep engine running or plug external power.

Firmware update from lower versions to K0900 takes about 35min with no name sd card. After that update to K0942 took 15 minutes only. Map update to 6.22.4 and later to 6.24.2 takes same time about 1.5 hours with SD Card Sandisk Extreme class 10 32gb

I have done the firmware update in minutes, but the maps took me 1.5h with 32gb micro sd card class 10

Map is normal to take 1h and 20 min on mmi 3GP so 1h30min is just fine

Hi Guys,

I read lot of comments but I didn't found exact description about the upgrade process.
I have MMI 3GP with K900 firmware and 6.22.4 map. If I'll like upgrade to k942 and 6.24.2 what I have to do?
I think the followings
1, upgrade the firmware 900 to 942
2, reactivated the existing 6.22.4 map
3 upgade the map file
am I right?

or what happen if now I upgrade only the map file (because it's simply) and later the firmware?
Anybody have experience about it?

If I'm wrong pls somebody summarizes the process of the update.

broken MMI 3GP+

Hi guys, i have read all our posts and could not see if anyone ever had the problem i have now. Please please help..

I have Audi A7 with 3GP+ mmi with Bang And Olufsen sound system, Sim card google earth etc..

Original MMI version was: HN+R_US_AU_P0409

Car is from US, so i tried to update the MMI with EU version software and maps. I copied all the files *unfortunately not from this forum, but i have got them earlier* and tried to update like normal EU car. The SD card was not even seen. And error showed up: REGION CONFLICT OCCURRED! Main UNIT USA. Release info region: EUROPE ROW" So managed to find in forum's that i need to tick the box in green menu within swdl "ignore region and varian" tab. So i did that as well as "user defined mode".

So once that was done, my SD car was finally accepted and the update started to run (k900 one)... (BOSE option could not be found, i cant see anything to untick for my sound system...so i have left as it is) It took about 1 hour till the first error came up: KBD_FC7:0. i had only two options like "cancel" and "retry". Retry did not helped so i hit cancel.. After that update went further for about 40min. it rebooted several times, all as per manual and normal update. However once it ended i never came u to the point where it shows "abort documentation" I think the screen was there, but those two last options were just invisible. I could use the shift know but there were no text!! Super strange...So...i waited for another 10min and the screen view did not changed. It alredy allowed me to use my shift know, the screen lookt exact like the one i was waiting for just without the otion to abort documentation. I rebooted MMI manualy then. And.. I scred up.

My MMI looks like somone got deleted all the letters and numbers. All options are invisible, whichever knob i press i get empty screens. I do hear the radio playing but nothing else. I have some pictures made, but cant see where i could atatch them here..

@congo, i see you have a lot of experience here. Please PLEASE...help I have read that i it possible to re-enable the emergency update from the green menu, since K900 update disabled that? Can someone guide me how to do it on my MMI? It is disabled in fact. Green menu works fine, however Engineer menu is broken as it is not usable now...

P.s. Just tried the Emergency enable script - not working..

Thanks for so quick answer. This is tricky... i am based in Lithuania. I did however managed now to add back the emergency update... shall i run the update again?

I have to first update to this FW : HN+_EU_AU3G_K0612 and then to this one HN+_EU_AU3G_K0900 or directly to HN+_EU_AU3G_K0946 ?

Secondly I cant update maps to 6.22.4 2016 or to 6.22.4 2017 ?

The activator work on 6.22.4 2016 I presume ?

Il dont understand if there is something to pay You says p.p.p.s. There are paid activation too ? What does it mean , what il the difference between this activator 8R0 060 884 DF – Activator ?
