I've just bought an Audi A4 Avant 2012 with MMI 3g plus.

Mediaversie:
HN+_EU_AU3G_P0530
Navi databankversie:
8R0060884AH ECE 5.13.8

So now I want to update directly to K0900 (8R0906961EB €A4, A€5, Q5, Q7) and also update the maps 2016.
My problem is I have no VCDS cable or software and I have let a company made MMI changes (also hidden menu availability). But I'm afraid this is wiped by the update!
Can you please let me know.

I think updating can be done by the .pdf file and the downloads (and activation 6.22.4 Vlasoff maps activation) without any problems right?
I have the standard speakerset (so no Bose or bang and olufsen)

So my questions are:
1. NO VCDS cable, after update from P0518 to K0900 still green menu available?
2. If 1. is No only script is needed with sdcard to let green menu appear again?
3. Let a company change severall MMI settings (not with green menu but with VCDS cable) are they still there after the update?
4. If 3. is NO then can I backup my MMI settings and restore them after upgrade of MMI?
5. Just follow the .pdf with activation 6.22.4 Vlasoff this works with my system, after update of MMI?

Hi @congo,
Perhaps you can help me again. My colleague install FW900 and Maps 6.22.4 onto a HN+ like me.
After installation, all works fine (maps, MMI) but the SIM Data Conection in the MMI MENU is now grayed ?
Note that it works before the update (this is a HN+ with SIM version) -The SIM data connection was not grayed and it could received SMS.
Now he can't ...

The firmware was 5XX (i dont remember exactyl) before the update to FW900.

Any good idea ?

1. Yes, green menu will be gone (have to fix this but I'm yet to find time for that) but you can reactivity it with script.

3. Should be, but I cannot give you guarantee
4. If you have VCDS cable you can record the current coding and make and adaptation map.

I've never met this issue but, PM me with the problem and when l'm back (on vacation right now) I will send you something to try and see if it will fix the issue.
Do you or your colleague have VCDS? If not the use the script for activating the green menu as we will need that.

When updating the map you can drive, it's better to be stationary when doing the software part.

Thanks a lot.
Successfully updated the system and maps without any problems!

Done:
1. FSC backup
2. Firmware update
3. check changes made in system are still there, YES!
4. Enable Green menu with script
5. Update Maps

Total time 2 a 2,5 hours.

@parabellum - it will delete the fsc ... it's not needed for this activator, it was only used as an attempt to stop the freely distribution.
@coulinator - you can do emergency update with K0900 and then reapply the activator.
@Zorislav - see no reason why not.

Online should work.
FSC backup should be on the first page.
It's up to you about the partition and navi, if the current map is EU one then it's not needed.

You might need to install the fair mode one more time. It's strange that the other things are working. Unfortunately I don't have 3gp unit to test I was recently updating rs5 with k0942 and the online services remained active (not the traffic) and the car was 2012, so it shouldn't be because of the MAP. It did had SIM slot though.

Hello everyone,

I want to update the firmware of my Audi A6 (4G, C7) because i had my dealer in the Netherlands update the maps to 2016, only to figure out that he did not update the firmware.

My current version is:

HN+R_EU_AU_P0532

8R0060884DF ECE 6.22.4

I have read the manual on how to upgrade and i am left with at least the following questions:


- Can i use the firmware file as stated on the first page of this topic and start to update from my current version P0532 ?
- Since i have the latest map already installed, can i just stop after updating the firmware, and not do anything with the map ?

Yes, you can do K0900 for your line(Q3/A6/A7/A8) and do just the firmware.

I have Bose Speakers, so i was trying to do the "User Defined Update".
I can't get the Green Menu to open by pressing the "Car" and "Menu" keys.
No matter how i do it, tried over 30 times, the green menu will not open.

The "Engineering Menu" will open with the given key combination and also rebooting the MMI.

Do you have any suggestion ?

Also, am i correct, that in order to Run the "copy from FSC" script, i just copy to the root of the SD card and then insert the card in slot 1 and then just wait until the screen goes from Russian text, back to normal ?

You can try with this one:
HN+R_EU_AU_K0900_[8R0906961EA] for Q3-A6-A7-A8
It has the "User Defined Mode" enabled, and i've removed all BOSE/B&O specific metadata.
In theory it should not propose BOSE/B&O for update.
I haven't got the change to test it.

well I'm embarrassed to have to ask, but I'm struggling to extract the map files.
I've installed 7-zip manager on my win10 laptop.

When I download from the links in the first post I get files downloaded named XXX.7z.001 XXX.7z.002 etc.

When I right click the downloaded file I get a 7-Zip option. I select 7-Zip, Open Archive and a 7zip window appears showing an archive containing 1 file, XXX.7z (i.e. the same except the .00n second extension is not present).

If I extract that using the "extract" button, I get a copy of the fie with the .7z extension only.
Then if I try to extract that new file using right click 7-zip etc I get an error "cannot open file".

I'm sure I must be being thick, but I'm stuck. Help!
