Stock to APR stage 2?

Hello all,

My apologies for the pure ignorance I have, but I'm brand new to having a nice car and have several questions. I just bought a 2016 a5 S-line. I love it, but I'm about to take it in to get the APR stage 2 upgrade for more power. I have done a lot of research on my own, but still cant understand the difference between having the Cast Downpipe Exhaust System that APR offers vs my stock exhaust.

I see people online saying "it doesn't really matter" or "its loud and doesn't do anything". In the same thread I will read other Audi owners swear by it. I've seen enough praise about the chip for stage 1, but not as much for the downpipe for stage 2. My question to you all is this;

1. Is stage 2 and the downpipe going to make a difference?
2. Is the noise that this new pipe generates loud or "tacky" sounding? I wouldn't mind a deeper noise, but hate when it sounds artificial and too loud.

I'd love some feedback from you guys. I want to keep the classy feel my audi has currently, but still add a boost in performance. Let me know!

Thanks,

Er.....

Hiya Dussk and welcome on board. I dont know what you mean by "stock turbo V6" sorry. Is your car petrol or diesel? 2.0 or 3.0?? Manual or auto??? How many miles or kms on the clock??? I think that most guys on here would suggest a gentle approach. In other words get to know the car BEFORE you make any mods so that you can then appreciate any changes cos the mods are much more than numbers, they also change the way a car feels. Torque is generally far more useful than peak power, unless you use your car on a track. Then make one mod at a time and try it, if you don't like it you can always go back. And dont forget that if you uprate the engine then you need to be sure that the rest of the car will follow ie tyres, brakes, clutch, suspension and so on. Every mod will always have some effect on the rest of the car.

Julianwhitta- That's a good question, and part of the reason I'm asking the question in the first place. If it's only a few hundred dollars more and it's worth it, than why wouldn't I? But if it's hardly any difference, than it wouldn't be worth it.

What do you think?

The only turbo'ed V6 in the States is the S5, and isn't this a supercharger??

Didn't think the 3.0 TDi made it over the pond!?

I have the same question, I’ve got a 2015 a5 TFSI sline 2.0 with stage 1 tune and I’m trying to figure out if I should go stage 2 and keep it or just trade up for a faster more torqued car ....

What is stage 2 for your car and what sort of performance increase does it give for how many ÂŁ's?
