Yes, the patch can be introduced before updating the navdb, but be prepared to run the update from the production nav database as a User Defined update -- we believe the Standard update requires process vdev-logvolmgr to be running with a valid FCS file for the current navdb. --g
when it tells me....."but prepare to run the update from the production navigation database as a user-defined update; " How to do this...maybe this is how I was going to do it but to be sure Thank you

User-defined software update mode is set generally in the Green Engineering Menu /swdl screen:

The setting is active until the next system restart (that is, the setting is NOT persistent). --g

Well you just screwed me up....., I don't have vag to be able to change that
Review the first post of this (long) thread -- you will find a link to an SD card script that will also enable the Green Engineering Menu by changing a setting in the persistent DataPST database file. --g

damn how good!!!!
I would marry you if it weren't for my wife!!!!
Should I do this often???
Let me explain, first I put that script and then the maps?
Or can I do the script one day and in two months the maps??

The GEM SD script is persistent, same as using VCDS Adaptation to enable the GEM. That is, run the SD script, then try to start the GEM with [CAR]+[MENU]. If it starts like it should, you can do the navdb update whenever you are ready (tomorrow or in two months). --g

In the absence of introducing the maps...I'll tell you how it went

thank you

Hi,
I have followed the steps to update to the latest firmware (P1001) on my Audi A6 I then removed the map data and hdd partition. I had some initial issues installing the new maps but got around that by buying a new bigger SD card as I guess I had removed some bits that I shouldnt to make it fit. I am now at the stage where I have reinstalled the maps and have the latest firmware version but when I click the Nav button it loads then just stops at initiallising and a map never loads.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@BobyG see post #2024 in this thread for a pointer to @DrGER ’s unblocker …
@JulianHicks much appreciated! Thanks to you, @DrGER and the other guys I get a clearer picture of what I must to do, to have the new maps.
I am back with an update. I managed to successfully install the K0942 firmware.
However, I installed the modified firmware, since some doubts started crawling about whether or not I have Bose or Bang & Olufsen. So I decided to play on the safe side, just in case.

I have one more appeal for help, please. The 6.36.0_2023 maps are about 38GB, while my microSD is 32 GB. I upload 3 screenshots of the file contents of the maps that I see.
Can I erase some of the contents, so that the size is cut to about 28-29 GB?
By what I see, if I am not mistaken, the maps can be installed at either MMI 3G or MMI 3G+. My Audi A4 B8 is with MMI 3G+. Therefore, I really hope that you know of an option to erase some files/folders.

Thank you very much in advance for the attention and time! All the best!
Boris

You can always read at least the first page... It's only a few post to read to get the answer.
@pebe292 Sorry, my bad, point taken! I have checked the last 3-4 pages, but totaly overlooked the first one.

I see the file "3GP_Filelist.txt" in the first post by congo. Will erase all files, so that eventually I get the same file content as in the .txt file.

Thank you!

@Pediigru -- Outstanding work. That last message "+++ setting BtAvailable to true" comes from process MMI3GApplication, suggesting that it thinks the Bluetooth service is available through the PSSBSSProcess. Maybe someone with another JP market import and Aisin main unit will show up here and offer a look at their pss.cfg file. --g
I have (not immediate) access to a Jap import A5 with HN+_JP_AU3G_P0238. If you can give me some guidance then I can pull the data you need if that will help?

I will be converting this unit to EU along with an A6 HN+R unit and your info has helped me so I'd like to return the favour.

...
The fact is that when I got the message
I hit cancel..
Then reading here I have seen the majority of people giving it a try and it has worked.
Select "Retry" until the operation succeeds is recommended here. Error code 140 is related to the update device (SD card), NOT the destination HDD device. --g

I m a new member and I was trying to find how to update my audi a6 c7 2013’s MMI, because the bluetooth is very slow in connecting and I want to unlock newer features if there are any.
Post a picture of the Setup MMI > Version information screen (or tell us what the Software version is). You likely need HN+R_EU_AU_K0942: 33.55 GB folder on MEGA --g
