I have access to premade harnesses, though haven't purchased one in years since most have been waiting for a kit. I can check and see if they are able to get me harnesses once again.

I think that the solution to US owners is to do taillights, harnesses and a new module. Then head to a dealership and have the module provisioned properly. Still waiting for someone to give this a shot. 1SickS5, you want to try this out and report back?

Cheers,

Yes I can.

If anyone wants a copy of the Audi instructions to this retrofit, ask me. It is as straightforward as I've said. While the instructions are in German, I have also a rather simple (Babelfish type) translation. I haven't had time to smooth it out but most should be able to follow. The whole thing is pretty easy, and any Audi tech can make the key adaptation and component protection. The reason I went for the Kufatec route is that I wanted the eCodes on my US car, and THAT is a bit trickier...

I'd love to see the instructions Roger. If you can forwards them to: contact@europrice.us

I knew it wasn't the worst procedure for a tech to do, but someone just has to give it a shot. Unfortunately bad news on the harness front, the pieces I had access to before are no longer available without another companies coding dongle. It does appear to be the Kufatec dongle, but maybe it is. I am inquiring more about it, but I'd prefer to just get US spec tails, US module and some adapter harnesses. Send folks off to dealership and have them installed.

So the hunt for harnesses starts again...

Still Hope.

For those that are still hopeful myself and a friend have broken the security coding for module 46 and are currently mapping the lighting.

I have already converted my NA lights on my A4 to flash and operate the same as the ROW cars.

Feel free to follow along here LED Tail light programing finaly cracked - New Video Added

Note that we have not released the coding for the module yet.

Chances are I wont be back here so if your looking to interact just go to Audizine or contact me at david@audienthusiasts.com

Oh man, I ordered the taillights yesterday through the group buy from BKS, I guess its not a simple plug n play, wish I read all this first

I sent an email to BKS & Robert cancelled my order & refunded me right away

Lucky you - at least for now. Stay tuned though and see what develops with the BCM2 coding that the AZ team are working on. You'll be able to buy the lights anytime - the plug adaptors shouldn't be a big deal, even if you have to make them yourself ... we already have that info...

The latest folks : K'tec has decided to abandon us (the 3 original players that used the BKS kit, with 1 finally okay) with their faulty product. I was the first, and subsequently spent about 3 months and several hundred hours researching and reporting to K'tec light behavior, wiring and pinouts, so they could get their code ALMOST correct for two of us, and completely correct for the last one of the three. I had to be in the UK on business, so awaited my return for the ultimate fix. A few of my posts on the Azine thread apparently convinced K'tec I had revealed their code - which I had NOT - so now they think I'm responsible for that. All they have to o is check the dates of my posts over there to see that I already had Ktec's not-quite-ready-for-primetime version, to see I COULDN'T have given anything up, but they are blinded by jealousy or something.

Anyway, if you're watching this thread cuz you have a B8 and want LEDs, watch instead the Azine thread, where the main success seems to be coming from the guys who actually hacked the code (with NO help from me), and ironically, a deal THEY may strike with K'tec to make an NA dongle work for you. As I have eCode LEDs, THAT conversion may never come to light.

Funny, how stuff falls in the end ...

Well - FINALLY - Today marked a real milestone for my LED adventure. I am SO glad that thru the pioneering of a few of us (note the arrows in our backs) that Alex got a headsup on our saga as it was developing and found a more careful route for some of you that took advantage of his opportunity. As for myself, and a few others (2 only to be exact) that stood by with THESE kits, the BKS and Kufatec nightmare - well it is OVER.

After almost 10, count'em TEN months of about agony, we have 100% success. Let's be fair - in January of this year, I did have eCode LEDs working like they do in ROW on my US NA S5. I also had bulb-out errors, and a hyper-blinking in dash indicator and a "Data Set Implausible" notation in my BCM2. By May, Kufatec who had been working with us, all of a sudden dropped us like so much a bag of shit, as some other folks began to crack the codes of adaptation and made some headway in their (K'tec's) direction. Even though I had NOTHING to do with it, I did post a congratulatory note to those creative geniuses and K'tec thought I'd provided them something secret - I wish I'd been that smart.

Anyway, the K'tec dongle somehow managed to bugger up (a highly technical term) my BCM (and at least one other's too) so I essentially needed a new BCM2 to have DavidB8 work his magic. Today I had the new BCM2 installed and tonight I have PERFECT eCode LEDs - I am so happy I want to go driving around just to see 'em without any bad vibes reminding me of this entire saga. I now know more about this than I ever had imagined, am grateful for the bit of expanded knowledge, but sooooo much more so for David's perseverance with me and others, to finally put this behind me.

So hoo-ah and MANY MANY THANKS to DAVID -

K'tec - Suck my exhaust, you mealy-mouthed UNPROFESSIONAL self-aggrandizing ignorant misguided opportunists -
