Seems that Google is back!
At least for MMI3G+ systems.
It is great news and i hope its for good.
On all Audi sites its still the old message where it says its gone forever so not quite sure did VW made a new deal or its all Google thing.
For the moment no single A4/A5/Q5/Q7 have it so it's not Audi that turned it on.
Time will show.
But great news!

Yes, that is because Audi have nothing to do with that for the moment.
They have not returned the licenses to that cars.
MMI3G+ and A6 MIB2 does not require license that's why its working there.
Lets wait and see, maybe Audi will do something or Google will.
Time will show.

User friendly installation like a software update w/o need to access shell.
Hello, I have a 2016 a4 with nvidia and mmi plus processor and the audi connect license is active as other licenses are also active, but since December my google earth license expired, it is possible to recover the google satellite view although according to me I know since December 2020 , Audi stopped collaborating with google?

I have updated my mmi firmware to version 1438 which is the latest available for my mmi version

This is the information of the mmi plus of my a4 b9 2016 nvidia processor before firmware updated to firmware version 1438. Is it possible to have a satellite view again with active audi connect even without an active google earth license? And if possible, what should I do?

It's working!
A4 B9 NVIDIA MMI.

You have to do some modifications:

5F, adaptation, vehicle configuration, and then WIFI_Hotspot - ON and, more important: Remote_HMI - OFF

With this modifications you will disable Audi Connect functions, fi, you won't be able to read forwarded addresses (from mobile phone), read news...

But you'll have Google Earth!

Thanks for the information, sorry is lost audi connect for it.

What year is your car if you can tell

My a4 September 2016, maybe it doesn't work.

Also I believe in 2017 the b9 in mmi plus already mounted qualcom
No, I have NVIDIA unit. It was not working without that modification which I made with Obdeleven.

But address sending/reading functionality is more important to me, so I'll return to standard view but with active Audi Connect.

In agreement. I also prefer it audi connect, although the audi connect will expire soon, when the license expires I will try this although I do not know if having esim will work when making this modification or you need to put a sim from your phone company for it because otherwise it will not go even modifying the module commented with obdeleven.

Hi Congo, I have a 2018 B9 A5 with virtual cockpit. It has had the mmi update to resolve the google maps issue but the Audi Connect subscription has expired. Will your fix work on the updated MMI? Thanks.

Hello,
unfortunately no.
When your MMI was updated the new sat map component was installed and the old one removed.
The new one (often called Here/Maxar) is completely different and it does require active license to be able to work.
There are alternatives but not much cheaper than the dealer fee.
