Hi,
I have a slightly over-cooling problem. I have checked and replaced the main radiator thermostat, but still the over-cooling persists.
I have read when the EGR thermostst fails, it fails in an open position as it is an electronic stat. The coolant circuit runs to the back of the main stat bypassing it and pushing cool water through the rad which in turn over-cools the engine especially in winter and at a steady speed or downhill.
Problem is, I don't know where it is located or have a part number for it.
I have spoken to TPS and they confirmed the price, but wouldn't reveal the part number.
Does anyone have any info on the EGR thermostat, where it is or where it's located. Internet searches don't reveal much. Apparently it has an orange plug, so will be searching my engine bay for it too.
