Could anyone confirm the door handle bar sensors from ebay are correct working? Otherwise i'm just gonna place a order by our Audi dealer (75 euros per side)
Yes, I replaced mine with eBay sensors from China, ÂŁ11 each. All working good and have been for a few weeks.

Just a quick question regarding the sensors would an A5 still have the tabs on the door handles if it didn't have the smart lock? Cuz mine had the rectangles on the door handles but they don't do anything now I'm not sure if that's cuz the original buyer didn't buy that option or wether the sensors have packed up? Hope this makes sense :)

It doesn't :) both sensors are new, both work. The fault is somewhere else. Works after clearing codes, start the car and it no longer works.
Replaced the sensors today (those from ebay) and got the same problem as Stuart. After swapping both sides them totally stopped working. Maybe also need to reset. Trunk still works, start stop also

@stuart do you still got problems with your sensors?

Update! My keyless entry is working at the moment without any problems whatsoever. Solution? Bought original ones from my Audi dealer.

The cheap ones from China are almost identical, partno everything matches but i guess İt's still cheap imitations.

Door actuators.

This happened to me. I replaced the keyless sensors in my 2009 S5 (with Chinese cheapies), but then found that the problem was the door lock actuator. I found one for about $250, online, then spent about 1 1/2 hours replacing it. It works fine now (almost a year). It's a pain to install, you must remove door card, then wiggle this actuator into position, and connect the mechanical and electrical connections, in a very difficult place inside the door. Skinned knuckles are worth the $500 savings!

Interesting, I wonder if this is my problem, as I've posted before but have seen no response yet, I replaced with the chinese cheapos then reset the codes it works the first time to lock/unlock but after starting the car it no longer works (or it does a strange lock/unlock no matter how careful I am with the small square and not touching the rest of the handle).

thanks for the detail instruction, i replaced mine today and it's now working beautifully. Hope it stays that way. however I noticed the hydraulic strut that holds the hood up was gone, so now I need to look for a replacement.
