As I thought Audi will not give away the product details they use for the waterproofing.
The dealers do a shampoo & spray which is packaged under the Audi brand name.

Not sure what options I have left now. Not getting any further with Audi. It just annoys the hell out of me when Audi say its acceptable wear and tear on a two year old car.

Its a design fault, to much stess on the fabric, the material is bubbling just like an old over washed jumper. There is no answer, my replacment roof is the same as my original. If your selling the car and get a new roof fine, if not whats the point.

I take your point but as we all know its a design fault Audi should take some responsibility on correcting the design fault. A two year old car should not exhibit this kind of wear. Are we saying this design fault remains in a new 2012 car?

I have marks on the roof but no wear as such. Time will tell I suppose but here's a question.
How strong are we? How many of us have the nervous feeling that wear will occur and our trip to the dealers will bare no fruit.
We should get together a get a letter into Audi UK supported by A5OC.
I think Duke is the only one here that has a 2012 and no wear yet as quoted.

Hi magi, my beloveds 2012 cab has more wear marks on it at 6 months than her saab had after 6 years. no fabric breakdown yet, but keeping a photo record, and am anticipating problems.........................

Sorry Rackingman, I did a very quick scan of this thread to find any 2012 owners in response to #244, you must of mentioned your MY somewhere I didn't see!

I guess you & Duke will confirm the answer at a later stage.

I am keeping an eye on a few fold locations but nothing that looks like ware is happening. I think I clean mine like Rackster (is ordered too) clean his beloveds with water only with a swipe over with my hand then a rinse off.

So the offer from my dealer was only a reduced price of £3000.00 !!!
I have taken the route of Audi CS . Not expecting much but I think an approximate number of cars with roof problems might be a good idea ? If its high enough it definitely points to a fault .
So if you want to add your details ?
1) Barry Rosenbloom roof is 2 1/2 yrs old

Guys I have pics of my roof whilst cleaning, Only water used.
The first picture shows a fold mark is this where it wears?
Car is 6 month old and the roof used a lot........

That's a bit much Duke. At least racksacleaner has the excuse he gets told to do it else he's sleeping on the couch with only his dodgy internet picture collection to keep him company. What's you excuse for drying a car roof with a towel!

have decided the cab will change insurance company next year to cover rear screen damage with no "integral to soft top" exclusion, and it will get bricked before we chop it in if audi wont do anything about it.
