Compared to other comparable coupes (CLK 550 & BMW M3) and even the A5, the S5 is a good 350lbs heavier. What is up with that? These vehicle's overall dimensions are all relatively similar. How much weight does the quattro AWD add I wonder? But the A5 carries the same quattro weight as the S5 so is the 330 lb weight difference all in the engine? Yet the Benz has a 5.5 liter V8 and still weighs less than the A5 let alone the S5. What was the point of flaunting the aluminum spaceframe & LeMans racing heritage when the car is a porker? I love my S5, but I can't help but feel Audi dropped the ball here.
