Hi Forum. hoping for a little help with a seat seam. As you can see the seat is coming away at the top from wear / use. Has anyone fixed a similar issue or can advise? Thanks! (or if there is a similar thread may just point me at it)

I would have thought finding the same seat on ebay would be the easiest way. May have to be from the uk for a bigger pool and better price though. Saw an s line drivers seat with rear netting and under seat storage box going for £50-£60 the other day. You wont find someone to fix leather well for less I don’t think.
Thanks MC, so basically replace the seat. A professional upholster had a go previously but the fix didn't persist... Probably a breakers yard would be better, saw costs lookinf like 240 euro plus shipping on eBay which looked prohibitive when I had a look there (non s-line 3.0 TDI car, CAPA variant)
Yeah I know it sounds wasteful but finding anyone to do anything right with the pressures everyone’s under these days is near impossible. less hassle to find another. I know what it’s like there. Vrt high insurance and tax means theres not as many like yours over there, i have Capa too and am looking to do the same with drivers seat. Wear on lower bolster. I found the second hand market over there to be useless too as everyone wants too much for anything of use compared to here. Supply and demand I suppose.
I had a lower bolster done previously, a professional upholster did it for about 120 euros ish a few years ago which was a tidy job - possibly worth the dollars if you can't find a replacement seat...
Could you tell the difference after it was done? Did they pick the stitching and replace a panel or treat the leather? I was thinking of trying the dye myself as its not torn it just has the dirty looking beige wear. I do need to find an upholsterer in the uk to recover some buckets for another car though. Trouble is I probably expect too much but recovered seats I’ve seen all had a “look” to them which stands out a mile. Need to find a real craftsman.
