Hi guys

when I got my car (Audi a5 2011 coupe black edition s line ibis white 2.0 TFSI) the LCD screen on my concert radio was all scratched up, in low light and night time it looks fine, but in the sun you can see the scratches from the driver side and passenger side angle, really doesn't look good!

I was wondering is it a straight replacement if I buy a second hand concert LCD screen and replace my scratched up one? ive seen a few on ebay only thing is how is this done and how easy is it? or is coding needed?

thank you!

Plug and play. The screen surround is just clipped in, four bolts holding the screen in place. Just be sure to get the correct part (check the back of yours for its part number first if not certain).

Is the screen scratched or the coating? quite common for the coating to get scratched if not using the correct products methods. Others on here have removed the coating using a plastic polish such as Meguiars Plasti RX, then applied another matte non refelective screen protector.

LCD panels are made from glass, not plastic?

If the OP is happy to replace it anyway, it could be worth trying to remove the anti-glare layer and then use an anti-glare screen protector on the glossy screen you'd be left with. No extra loss if it goes wrong.

I used some Displex (eBay) to remove the scratched anti-glare coating and then bought an anti-glare screen protector from Lexerd (Amazon USA) who make them for the specific Audi A5 (standard MMI screen size), however if you have the 7" wide screen MMI, then you can get this on eBay for under a fiver here:
