OK, I just got my S5 about 9 months ago. It has just under 6k miles on it as of today.

I am getting an RS5, no question about it, when they are released here in the USA.

Does anyone here know for sure when these will be available or when orders will be taken? Very anxious to get this car. I love my S5 to no end, but must have the RS5!

Nobody knows any definitive information but I've heard both Q2 and Q4 of 2011. I've also heard that there may be some changes for the 2012MY (slight power increase I guess?), but that's all he-said she-said, so don't rely on it.

I'm also eagerly awaiting this car in NA. I lusted after an S5 for a while, but decided to wait for the RS5 as soon as I heard it was a go. Currently thinking of getting it in Ibis or Daytona with a matte white wrap, gun metal rims (19s or 20s) and e-codes (although I never understood that moniker).

I'm not that interested in swapping the suspension or exhaust as, frankly, I don't need it to feel/sound like a race car. I may however swap out the driver seat for a Euro-spec RS5 Recaro sport seat. Passengers can be more comfortable =)

My 2002 Nissan Maxima is getting long in the tooth so I hope this car comes soon damnit!

I have an S5 as well and I'm #2 on the wait list to order the RS5 whenever the order sheet comes out. I'm going with Sepang Blue and probably will swap out the rims immediately (the ones that come on the RS are butt ugly) with HRE P40s. Can't wait!

RS5 US Release

Audi notified their dealers that the RS5 will be on sale in the US 14 months from today. It will have the facelift. No explanation was forthcoming as to this late release. Time to look at the Bimmer M series.

Where did you get that info as it cant be true? That would run into 2013 model. If it comes at all here in the US it will be a mid to late model 2012. I am on a wait list and have not been notified of any updates!

Exactly...I want to know what's in it. If the engine is not changed i may wait for the RS6/7. Bought this S5 to replace my aging RS6 to hold my interest till the RS5. Low # on my dealer list but they said late 2012. If RS versions are really coming to the US of the 4 doors I may just keep on waiting.

Can't some of you guys in the US squeeze a bit more info out of Johan de Nysschen or AoA?

Don't ask for the exact engine spec- they wont give that out yet - but you might get an answer to "is it the same engine as in the current model?" or possibly "is it NA or FI?"

At least you might get a clue.

Johan did a Q+A on Fourtitude a while back, be great if he would come on here.

Any dealers on here could use this as an reason to stop sales fleeing to the new M3, C63AMG, new XF-R etc.

The fact the talk is of 2nd half 2012 implies a launch for MY2013 model year changeover.

I love my S5 and I think the RS5 looks awesome. But it keeps on being mentioned that its coming with the face lift. What is the new front end going to look like? I was really hoping it would look like the current model.
