Hello everyone,
I have a 2010 Audi A5, I can connect my phone via bluetooth do make/receive calls only.
I want to play music via bluetooth as well but i guess I have an old version of MMI.
Is there anyway to play music via bluetooth (other than plugging bluetooth adapter to the USB port)?
And what if I updated the MMI for the car? Would that solve the problem? and how much would that cost? (I live in the US)

Thank you...

Replacing the MMI in the car would cost a bomb.

You should strongly consider the option of an adapter.

I use the Viseeo Tune2Air WMA1000, costs around $75

It works exactly the same as having the phone connected via wire and allows you to still make and receive phone calls via the car's built in bluetooth.

If you can pick up an MMI on ebay its not so bad. I managed to get an updated one for ÂŁ400, and got ÂŁ200 back selling the old one. Also gives the option for google maps and Audi connect. Very easy job to do, but you would need new controls too - again from ebay ÂŁ120 for a new set, ÂŁ100 back selling the old one

Sarcasm alert!

Key word is protocols, which would indicate a software solution. What hardware piece is missing that prevents high quality Bluetooth audio streaming? I am new to audi so serious question.
2022-Feb - True Question, still to this day. My sister recently passed her 2010 S5 NoTop over. Burnt amp on arrival; got a donor at the yard, and had the green board surgeons swap the bacon circuits - to keep the anti-theft codes. Speakers still 0db; more importantly, what I was experiencing throughout the ordeal consistently, was focused on functional hardware circuits using algorithms designed to reject functionality. Constitutional principle: patent vs possession. Consumer owns the hardware, the transmission for example, at a very specific time stamp and or usage amount. Based on physical existence, the light switch connected to the light is included when you put it in your car at the yard sale - whether it works or not. Specifically. With source access to my possession I certainly could have opened this simple pathway by now - my time. WTFg
There is only One US Constitution. Anyway…

So how did that turn out back in the day, for you sir? Who did you blow to make the car go?
Don’t suppose your response was to do it yourself, and you now own a company that manufactures a proper adaptor?
