@Aleksandar7 : While the Train version on the Red Engineering Menu screen is useful, better to post a picture / screenshot of the [MENU] > Settings > Version information screen.

If the Software Version begins wtih "BNav_EU", start by updating to the latest BNav_EU_K0260_1_D1 from the first page of this thread. After the update is complete & everything still works OK, plan your nav database update (also on the first page). --g

Australian Driver.

Hi guys, I've been recommended by the RS3 guys in a few other forums. I have a 2015 RS3 Pre Facelift. I updated my maps to 2018 but would like the latest available if possible. I have a Rosstec HEX2 Cable so I muck around often with the car settings.

Ok having issues to download this from Mega, looks like there is an limit and even if i wait for time to pass it just starts download from 0.
I have no problems to pay 5e to Mega for that first packet, but there is no option to buy with a CC and i can't pay with what they offered.
Any other way to download this? Or it can be download with their desktop app one by one?

@Barbalatte : Your MHIG system is first gen MIB (MIB1), which is not intended to be user-upgraded (beyond the initial over-the-air updates supplied by Audi). A few on-line vendors can offer work arounds for some updates, but new nav database licenses require a trip (and payment) to your local/regional dealer. Definitely not the same support model as the previous MMI 3G system architecture. --g

@Aleksandar7 : I haven't needed to download gigabytes of data from MEGA in a long time, but I recall that downloading multiple parts of a large collection is more likely to be successful (for free) by downloading each part separately (I used Chrome running on a Linux PC without any problems). HTH. --g

DrGER,

Thanks for getting back to me. Do there is absolutely no way to upgrade the maps if i didn't want to go through dealer network.

Btw, one more question, i believe my current maps are either 2016 or 2017. Can i jump straight to the latest version (from page 1) or i need to update with some version in between?

Is this for an RS3? Also I'm in Australia. East or West?
The nav database shared by Callahan above is for East & West Europe (distributed originally on separate DVDs) and only for MMI 3G Basic (BNav) systems. As noted above, your RS3 has a 1st gen MIB infotainment system, which is completely different. --g

Hi guys! I install the new 3G Basic maps on my Audi and when I go to navigation I see this message. ‘Checking Medium. Please Wait…’ How can I fix this? I change the cards, I put the activator but nothing. I need your help. Sorry for my English

Q&A section
Here are some of the questions raised by the forum members about the update process that I might failed to explain in the manual.

Q. Do i need VCDS to do the update?
A. No, you need VCDS only to clear some errors after the update but the MMI will function correctly even if you don’t clear them out.

Q. I have a Bang & Olufsen sound system not a Bose. Does this also mean that i need to exclude it?
A. Yes, better not to update the DSP system.

Q. Currently no updates for North America?
A. Not for now.

Q. I have mmi 3g , version p0XXX can i go straight to k0260?
A. Yes.

Q. 01043 - Control Module; Incorrect Software Version - How can i solve this ?
A. Restart the MMI and remove the key from ignition then put it back in. The error should change from 01043 - Control Module; Incorrect Software Version to 03276 - Please Check Software Version Management.

Q. What are 03276 and 03175, will they affect the MMI in anyway and how can they be avoided?
A. 03276 - Please Check Software Version Management will appear every time when the software is updated w/o VAS connection to the VW/Audi servers.
03175 - Invalid Data Set will appear when updating the map w/o deleting it first. Sometimes this helps to avoid that error.
They will not affect the functionality or the sound characteristics of the MMI.

Q. Is there a way to use used defined mode w/o "Green Menu"?
A. Yes. In file metainfo2.txt in the root folder if you remove the line "MetafileChecksum=XXXXXX" and add
EnableUserDefinedSWDLMode = "true"
skipMetaCRC = "true"
the you will be able to use the user mode w/o the green menu.

Warning - At no stage I take responsibility of your actions or any of my notes that may mislead you. Therefore, and like my all other documents I say “use at your own risk”.

Cheers :wink2:
Hi @congo, sorry to disturb you, but I think you're the only one who can solve my problem. I have an A4 8k from 2011. I have made the firmware update from K0054 to 0070 to 0257 to 0260 without any problem. After that I installed 5.33.2 east maps and activated them via script, they were working good and were tested for some months. Then I tried to put on the 5.33.2 west maps but I got into the "no update found" problem. Someone here on the forum suggested that I should have been on a Country included in west maps to find the update. So I did, when I arrived in France from Italy I tried to shift sd but the problem was still there. I tried many times to shift sd and also to put the old 2011 maps. The only result is that after some changes and reboots the mmi navigation was stuck on "checking medium please wait". When I came back home I read all this topic and tried all solutions.
In order I :
- Tried an emergency update of k0260 via green menu : the update went ok, green menu access was cancelled by the update but the "checking medium " message was still there
- Tried an emergency update of k0260 followed by a normal update of k0260 in case some parts were not updated during emergency update; message still there.
- Tried the solution of removing activator via Russian tool, then fsc then script: message still there.
If I insert an Sd with maps the system is stuck on that message, if I try with 5.34.2 the system make the same, if I don't insert maps the navigation shows all visible satellites and ask for a map to be inserted.
I have tried to update maps also via red engineering menu : it find the update, read the metainfo file correctly, arrive at the point where you have to start the update but pressing start have no effect.
If I go on the update logging of the red menu I find all the firmware updates with OK on side, then there are 2011 and 2021 maps with NOK, no database navigation is shown on the information page.

At the moment I dont know what to try, can you suggest me something to do? The rest of MMI functions are working perfect ( radio, media, AMI, phone, etc...)

Please help me and the other stuck there.

Any idea where I can get an update for 1st Gen MIB?

Hi @Callahan I cant contact you directly I've upgrade my firmware but I never updated my NAV as I used old map from the CD, based on the congo PDF file I dont understand anything in updating the map. I download the latest map you send to me but I need to ask for some advices:
1)Do I need any activator for the map as I never used one?
2) If I need may I put in the same SD Card as I have the map or May I used activator first then format SD Card and put the map on it?
3) If you may write me personally and provide me any contact I would really be thankful to you, Im just afraid I can break the MMI :).
Thanks in advance!
