@pppcz -- When the NAV function stalls on start-up, the usual reason is that the navigation database acios_db.ini did not get (re)generated automatically following the navdb update. This happens generally when the navdb update is not applied in the proper order. You can confirm this in the Green Engineering Menu. See my previous post #2,813 for a solution. --g

Hi everyone,

My MMI is 3GP version HN+_EU_AU3G_P0814 and im trying to go to K0942_3.
I want to know if i am doing ONLY the firmware update and not touching the maps, will i still need to use a maps activator, or should it stay working fine?

@eljay_au -- If your MMI3GP has the production/factory navigation database, updating the system software to K0942_3 from (production) P0814 will NOT affect your AN region navdb. The license file for the production navdb is stored in persistent flash memory that is not touched by the system software update.

When the production navdb is updated/replaced by a new(er) database, an updated license file is required to access the new database -- or, the system can be patched to disable the normal navdb activation process, which is what Keldo discovered 10 or so years ago. Yes it does have the factory nav db, afaik it’s never had any sort of updates done whatsoever.
So i should just be able to update only the firmware and be ok?
