Hello people.
One more of these guys who just wants to be certain.

I have the following versions in my car (Audi A7 2011 with Bose):

Since firmware seems to be the correct version, do I only need to update maps and run the activator from the RAR file?
And do I not need to worry about the bose thing? Do I still need to clear codes with VCDS/OBDEleven?

Hi everyone, I am new to updating my Audi. My auto's Media Version: HN+_EU_AU3G_P0767 should I update MMI before updating the Navigation database? Nav. Database version: 8R00608884BK ECE 6.17.3 . And an extra question will I need an activation code for just upgrading Nav data?

@congo - I followed your manual and firmware update was not an issue...
But I lost myself in MAP update.
I followed you manual, which is okay, however in User-Defined mode you said to mark all to Y.
I removed folders you advice and the update runs well.
But then - it shows 140error code as some folders are missing (these which yuo adviced to remove due to SD capacity).
If I have SD 64GB - and I do not remove these folders - is there enough space on HDD in the MMI and update will run correctly?
If I have to remove some folders - are you able to clearly define which one (page 1 of this thread shows it). But shall I leave N in user defined mode these folders which are missing later on SD?
If I leave some as NA or N then AUDI_MMI3G_ECE shows S (some?) instead of Y.

I think all seems to be easy and I make just a small mistake during update process by removing some folders in pkgdb folder or choosing wrong data in MMI3G_ECE data in engineering mode.

thanks

Hey everyone,
Just wanted to let you know that I followed all the procedures described in the guide and it worked flawlessly in the MMI 3G+ of my RS4.

Thank you very much for the effort done @congo !!

Information for building 6.32.1 Map Update SDs

I've just been able to investigate the file structure of the 6.32.1 map data folders and files by unzipping and analyzing the meta files from a zip given to me by my friend. He lent me his 32GB USB stick which has the 25 zip files 1-25 [25GB] that I assume he got from Item #1 in this thread.

When unzipped using WINRAR, the resultant folder structure is 35.1 GB. The Zip files include folder files for both MMI3G (3G 'High') and MMI3GP [3G 'plus'], so to fit the files on a 32GB SD card in FAT32 format, some files need to go. The folders that we can exclude are all subfolders in the 'pkdbg' folder.

By analyzing and comparing the two metainfo2.txt files (there's one for 3G and one for 3Gplus), these are the files that you DON'T COPY for each MMI type.

To build a 3G HIGH SD don't copy these:
TMC3GP
LIT3GP,LIT3GP2,LIT3GP3,LIT3GP4,LIT3GP5
SDSGP3
CTYS3TC,CTYS3TC2
PSD,PSD2,PSD3

The remaining files you need total about 21GB

To build a 3G PLUS SD don't copy these:
TMC
LIT,LIT2,LIT3,LIT4
SDS
CTY,CTY2,CTY3

The remaining files you need total about 25GB

Did anyone try to update the BOSE system? And if i do what can happen?
Thanks in advance
If I understood correctly from multiple sources if you update it will stop working all the surround settings. You'd have to buy a special part, install it, so it becomes functional available.

Thank you! I updated the system without BOSE. Took me a lot of time to update MMI and Navi.

Is there big difference between 6.32.1 and 6.33.1? Asking this because I just updated to 6.32 and it took quite a while and wanted to understand whether it's worth or not to wait ~1h30m.
I would like to know too. To bad i updated it yesterday :p

ECE 6.32.1 (2020/2021), likely assembled late 2019 (from data collected in 2019), released in early 2020.
ECE 6.33.1 (2021/2022), likely assembled late 2020 (from data collected in 2020), released in early 2021.
If you don't have to pay for the database update, why wouldn't newer be better to have than older nav data?

Not arguing that it is/isn't better. Just tried to grasp if the difference was so much that would justify the waiting time all over again.
Given your explanation I guess it is worth to do it.

Hello, I`m a noob and have two question about the Maps 6.33.1 for a MMI 3G+:
what activator should I use: the one inside the map or the one to download separately?
do you need to delete folders to fit a 32gb card? which? LIT,LIT2,LIT3 like in 6.32.1?

Thanks for all this job, all you are amazing! :D

I used the activator inside the map folder. Worked flawlessly for now.

Yes, you need to delete folders to fit the map in a 32gb cards as per the guide and some posts of other users. Although you can use a 64gb and you don't need to delete any folder. It's described in the guide how to do it.

Thanks for the reply! :D
One think more:
I dont have BOSE, what versión do I need to install: Stock or Modified? I think its better Modified because Green Menu its enable, and I need to erase old maps, but
what do you mean by "No sound system"?

Can I install k0942 or first k0900 and later k0942?
HN+R_EU_AU_K0900 - Stock firmware
HN+R_EU_AU_K0942 - Stock firmware
HN+R_EU_AU_K0900 Modified firmware - Green Menu enabled / User Defined Mode / No Sound systems
HN+R_EU_AU_K0942 Modified firmware - Green Menu enabled / User Defined Mode / No Sound systems

“No sounds systems” means that the updates for amps have been removed from the update file. Using this update file means that you can’t ‘accidentally’ update amps that might go into Component Protection.

You don’t need to delete maps unless you’re changing region! You’re in Espana, aren’t you? Presumably you're doing a Eur map update?

Ok, I install them HN+R_EU_AU_K0942

about delete maps:
Yes, Im from Spain but in spanish the manual tell:

Optional: Removing the old map is optional. However, it is highly
recommendable. The benefits are:
 Possibility to avoid Code 03175 - Invalid Data Set error
 Avoid errors when copying the map (size, writing speed will
 There are no files from the old map in the new

OK; so I'm not sure I think those statements are true, so perhaps you will help us and tell us if you actually do avoid the 03175 code?

The map update only updates the files it needs to; if you delete the partition (and files) you'll update will be slower as it will have to copy the unchanged files you just deleted!
You should assume the copy will take at least 90 minutes as almost 25GB has to be copied to your hard disk. I've just done my maps yesterday. I didn't delete the partition, so only copied the files I needed and used a very high speed SD card (170MB/sec). It still took 80 mins.

Perhaps you'd also help all the readers by confiming which MMI and Map levels are installed currently?
