Hi,
I know the topic is about 3GP/3G+, but from the content of the post I assume, that these maps are compatible with 3G High as well, quoting some parts of the post:

and

I have latest (0257_6) firmware for 3G High and installed these maps. Installation run smoothly, no problems here. However none of the activators, found on this and various other (3G High related) topics works. I tried Vlasoff, Keldo, Darkdll but none of them worked. FSC based, that are run from Engineering menu, execute, but nothing happens after restart, the rest, that should work on any screen, after everything has booted, do nothing, I see no confirmation screen, whatsoever.
I also tried several SD cards - 1GB, 16GB, 64GB, all formatted as FAT32. I still get "Navigation data blocked" kind of message.
As I browse the forum, a lot of people are in similar situation and I failed to find working solution, so I any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
I had done exactly the same and was up till 3am after working on my MMI for approx 7 hours to be faced with Navigation data blocked....but i persevered and found this. I tried every activator i could get my hands on to no avail. At this point i was tired extremely frustrated and would at this point give anything a go so it would work so I wrote this to SD card put into my SD slot, followed the prompts and with that entered a destination and waited for the Navigation data blocked to appear, however it didn't and i have not had a problem since. I hope this helps you guys out.

Hi, I have an Audi A6 2013. I have managed to update to HN+R_EU_AU_K0942_4. I am now trying to install the maps. I did format the HDD and later with a script made sure the partitions are correct. The issue I have now is that the maps don't install.

The activator shows its been installed properly. But after enabling user defined updates and manually selecting them I cannot select anything for ECE 6.36 files in the application, it does show Application (0 -> 0x59900) but it doesn't allow me to tick it.

Somebody said its because I have installed the activator first, whereas somebody else was recommending me to use a MDI to USB.

Does anybody know the solution for this. As I have the EU software but no Maps.
Any help would be helpful thanks.

@kaz99 -- Unless you know for certain (or have strong evidence to suggest) that the current nav database is corrupted, reformatting the nav partition for same-region updates is never needed (or advised); doing so only makes more work for you and complicates the update. Same goes with patching the system to disable normal the normal navdb activation process -- you can do this, but it almost always makes more work for you later. So now you're stuck. I'd suggest reflashing the MU9411/ifs-root and MU9411/efs-system Application components (only!) from the HN+R SD (as User-defined) to over-write the so-called "activator" patch (assuming you applied the standard Vlasoff patch script) & try installing the navdb again (first as Standard then User-defined, if need). --g

Thank you for your response. Yes this was a Japan Imported A6, this is why I did the nav format. So you are suggesting to reinstall HN+_EU_AU3G_K_0942? Stock or modified, as previously I installed modified/no sound systems (I have Bose Sound System.

Just trying to get this sorted as managed to change it to EU but now stuck without maps lol. Any help will be appreciated thanks.

@kaz99 -- OK, region conversion is one of the times the HDD nav partition needs to be reformatted. What HDD is in your JP HN+R system ? You will want to confirm the available capacity of disk partition /dev/hd0t77 (/mnt/nav). The H-B main units made by Aisin for the Asian market had different partitioning than the EU/US models. If the 60 GB Toshiba, you will need at least 28836624 1K blocks for ECE 6.36.0 and its MapStyles database file.

My suggestion is noted above -- you can reflash the entire MU9411 device, but only ifs-root & efs-system are necessary to overwrite the offending Vlasoff patch.

PS: The other problem you might have is that the JP software doesn't use the hwSample flag to indicate which hw revision to use (that is, 41, 51, or 61). When hwSample is not found, the hw revision is assumed to be D1 (41). We believe this generation of main unit is equivalent to EU/US hwSample E1, which requires revision 51 software. See this and later posts for more information: https://www.a5oc.com/threads/mmi-3g...avigation-6-36-0-and-firmware-updates-currently-2023-europe.176144/post-1638861 --g

Yes, so mine was a HN+R_JP_AU_P0271 which I did manage to change it to HN+R_EU_AU_K0942_4 MU: 0271. I wouldn't know what unit because I haven't opened it yet. But I did ran a Nav Partition script and it says that its the correct size. If you have got any scripts, let me know and I can test too. Issue I had with maps was as shown on second pic I cannot select the application and tick it.

Which HN+R version is MU9411?

I did read your NavDB Unblocker, you reckon that might be needed if all fails?

Thank you for your response.

@kaz99 -- Put a FAT32 card in slot SD1 after the system is started fully (after about 3 minutes), open the Red Engineering Menu screen, and grab a PNG screenshot to SD1 by pressing/holding the [<<]+[>>] (left+right arrow) keys until the console LEDs flash (about 4-5 seconds). Attach the PNG to a folllow-up post. I think we need to see the "Most train" and "MU software" values for your MU9411 main unit. Also useful is a PNG of the Green Engineering Menu screen /version/versionmu -- we are interested in the "MU Version" and "HW version MU" values, specifically.

What "Nav Partition" script are you referring to ? What does it do, exactly ? My guess, based on the info in your post above, is that the system is still running the production JP software. Asian (KR, JP) to EU conversions are not so trivial.

You might also want to run my MMI3G Info reporting script: GitHub - DrGER2/MMI3G-Info: MMI3G Information Report Script

@tzoboy can you tell us what benefit does firmware version K1510 bring?
This is a custom software update based on EU_P1001 that appears to add support for map display in the instrument cluster for later A6/A7/A8 models. It is not a complete software release, so I would consider its use experimental. Possibly produced by a fellow from RO ( www.facebook.com/naviupdate ). --g

Hi everyone.
I have MMI 3GP HN+_EU_AU3G_P0814
A few months ago I successfully unlocked the navigation by the DrGER's script. It works perfectly.
Four days ago i changed battery in my Audi q7 and now I have a problem with MEDIA menu - it doesn't work. There is "Initializing media, please wait" in display, but all other functions is OK.
I heard about problem with HDD, but NAVIGATION works.

@DrGER You have a big experience in this system, can you give me an advice?

Hi - Firtly thanks for making this available to us as well as the eexcellent guides.
I am going to do this soon. Have got the green menu working today but wanted to ask if there is a recommendede version out of the two :
• HN+R_EU_AU_K0900 Modified firmware - User Defined Mode / No Sound systems
• HN+R_EU_AU_K0942 Modified firmware - User Defined Mode / No Sound systems

Mine has never been upgraded and my current version is HN+_EU_AU3G_P0767 - NAV.DATABSE VR. 8R0060884BK ECE 6.17.3 & I have B&O sound.

thanks

@sl101 -- K0942 is the last released update for your MMI3GP system -- you should apply it. Also, the concern about the Bose & B&O DSP/amp software is overblown, IMO. No one here in recent memory has seen device AMPLCPKO auto-selected for update using a Standard update. --g

This file I did before the update to K0942 version
OK, a significant HDD problem is reported at 11 seconds:
Code:
Jan 01 00:00:08 5 20002 400 helperPerformDiskChecksThread: partition </mnt/gracenode>
Jan 01 00:00:08 2 20002 400 Dirty bit is set for </dev/hd0t187>
...
Jan 01 00:00:11 2 5 0 scsi_interpret_sense: path=1, target=1, lun=0, cam_status=c4, scsi_status=2, flag=00000040, vuflag=0001, cmd=28, error=70, sense=3, asc=11, ascq=0
Jan 01 00:00:11 2 5 0 scsi_io_done: I/O error lba 0x845a27b (0x845a27b - 0x845a27c), nlba 2, resid 2
Jan 01 00:00:11 2 20002 400 Failed mount of </dev/hd0t187> to </mnt/gracenode>, type <qnx6>; with <Input/output error>
The expected behaviour on an HN_+EU system:
Code:
Jan 01 00:00:05 5 20002 400 helperPerformDiskChecksThread: partition </mnt/gracenode>
Jan 01 00:00:05 2 20002 400 Dirty bit is set for </dev/hd0t187>
...
Jan 01 00:00:05 5 20002 400 Succeeded mount of </dev/hd0t187> to </mnt/gracenode>, type <qnx6>
...
Jan 01 00:00:06 6 20000 0 Interface [104]: 'AVAIL' '/mnt/gracenode'
While the gracenote_srvr process is not needed to initialize the MEDIA function, the system seems to expect to find a usable /mnt/gracenode partition at startup; thus, I would suspect a failing HDD here.

BTW, forum etiquette suggests that your question should be posted in a separate thread (as it is not related directly to the topic of the ECE 6.36.0 navdb update). --g

Hello members,
I downloaded maps/fw package from other site (Mega link below) because couldnt finish downloading via this mega link it just never completes download and have a question that i could not find anwser to, it might sound stupid but can someone tell me how to know what maps update to use ? i downloaded the database from Mega that includes maps for MMI3G:
Audi HN+ maps 6.36.0 19.69 GB
Audi Hnav maps 6.36.0. 18.7 GB
Audi MMI3G 6.36.0 22.99GB
My Question is if HN+ and HN+R uses same maps whats the 3.2GB difference in these map folders "HN+ and MMI3G" because map codes are the same for all files '8R0051884KL" and im just confused.
FW/MAPS/Activator 64.22 GB folder on MEGA
Thank you in advance.
fml. took 2 days to download... no password locked zip... can you provide the one you used please? thanks
