This is it!
The proper activator for Audi MHS2 systems made by delphi.
It a result of deep system analysis and some good reverse engineering.
The time has come and i have decided to share it!
Now is available free of charge for everyone!

Unlike the leaked version of the activator this one is tested and in use for quite long time now.
You will not loose ability to install custom POI's and for sure it will not cripple your legal function enabling codes.
I cannot guarantee that will work on every MMI out there, but i never had issues ever since i created it back in 2016.
Regardless of what some might say, update of the MMI is not mandatory. This is entirely up to you.
If your MMI is working properly and you have not noticed issues then you can continue using same version.
Believe me, i know these systems inside out.
As you will see bellow the supported versions list is quite long and will only get longer with time!
In case that you do decide to update then subscribe to this topic as i will update it to include software update info and files.

In the archive you will find a manual how to use it.
It is very simple process and you will only need one empty SD card size 8-32GB FAT32 formatted.
After activating the MMI you will be able to use latest navigation maps.

Here is list of supported versions, it was tested on many more but for now i decided to include the following.
If your software is not the support list then send the backup that the activator will make and i will add it. Always make sure you are using the latest version of the activator.
Almost any version out there!
If for some reason you cant get it to work following the manual then its likely that your unit was already patched.
In such case contact me and i will see what i can do about it.

Please have in mind that im doing this in my free time and that means that im not 24/7 available :)

The map of MHS2/MST2(soon to be released) is not installed, you copy map on SD and just insert in the unit. If coding is ok and fecs are shown as valid then map will work.
Simple as that :)

MAP 2022/2023 -> 11.64 GB file on MEGA
MAP 2023/2024 -> 12.23 GB file on MEGA

Warning : Original version is only one and can be found on the link bellow.
Any other version with other names on it or "autobackup" shit ... is not supported by me.
If you decide to use it then check the forum, there are more than 50 cases of broken units from that shit!
Activator -> 3.12 MB folder on MEGA
MHS2_ER_AU_K0129 -> 2.09 GB file on MEGA
MHS2_ER_AU_K0471 -> 2.53 GB file on MEGA
MHS2_ER_AU_P1242 -> 2.55 GB file on MEGA
MHS2_ER_AU_P2035 -> 2.54 GB file on MEGA

MHS2_US_AU_K0471 -> 1.02 GB file on MEGA
MHS2_US_AU_P1242 -> 1.01 GB file on MEGA
MHS2_US_AU_P2037 -> 1.02 GB file on MEGA
Software update instruction -> 720.9 KB file on MEGA
After using the activator unit will accept modified meta.
What you need to do is take the meta from 1242, remove any SupportedTrains or BlockedTrains and then replace MetafileChecksum with skipMetaChecksum.

For for example with the meta from 1242:
Remove those two lines
BlockedTrains = "MHS2_EU_AU_P01*,MHS2_EU_AU_K01*"
MetafileChecksum = "cd15b1487917b24e0ca50e0716bfa3d6dd7d710d"

And add these two:
EnableUserDefinedSWDLMode = "true"
skipMetaChecksum = "true"

Then make sure all components are select, the bare minimum is - MCM,78K0R,AP_ZR_HIGH1,TNRREF. Nice to select SpeechRes,SpeechAppRes.

Keep in mind that if something goes wrong you might not be able to fix it yourself and might need to send it to me.

MHS2_ER_AU_P2035 is latest software for this unit.
If it doesn't have Bose sound...update the software and then patch it with the script.
I think you can unlock the current software with the dlphi.sh script.. you have the mhs2 activator in the first post of this topic...all info is on pdf

Hi Congo,
I have an MHS2_ER_AU_P2035 (MU:0235) unit with Wi-Fi limited to diagnostic mode. I successfully used your activator to enable Android Auto via USB, but I’m wondering if there’s any way to enable wireless Android Auto, even though the Wi-Fi module is restricted.
Have you ever seen a case where someone managed to unlock wireless AA on an MHS2 unit with diagnostic-only Wi-Fi? Is there any patch, workaround, or hardware mod that could make this possible?
Thanks for your amazing work and for sharing the activator. Best regards from Spain.

Hello everyone.
First of all, thanks for the @congo activator!

I have a 2017 Audi A3 8V with MMI version MHS2_ER_AU_P0470 0191 and was able to activate it successfully.

It had the Charge Only port, I bought the "5Q0 035 726 E" module with the appropriate wiring, and proceeded with the installation to activate CarPlay/Android Auto.

I coded with ODB11, Media 5F, (apple_dio = on, google_GAL = on, and byte 19 with usb_ipod).
Restarted MMI, plugged in my iPhone with iOS 18.5, and nothing happened...
Plugged in my Android phone, and Android Auto started!

Any clue why? I've used CarPlay on my iPhone in other cars, and it worked...

Best Regards

Hello there,

is there a way to remove the patches? I just used the activator for newest maps but now i want to go back.

"To do that take empty SD and create one empty file on it called "remove", put that SD in the unit and restart the unit. Once booted it should remove the patch and on next boot will start with stock software."

I tried this and rebooted the Mmi but nothing happened.

Thank you in advance

First of all, thanks congo for your work and for sharing all this! Really appreciate the effort behind it and sharing it publicly.

However I have a couple of questions on my side:

System Info:
  • MMI Version: MHS2_ER_AU_P1242
  • Software version: 0213
  • According to the readme, my version should be compatible, so no firmware update needed (latest version for my unit is MHS2_ER_AU_P2035, but I must admit I’m a bit hesitant about flashing due to fear of bricking the unit).
  • No smartphone interface (only charging via USB)
  • No fancy color FIS with maps, only "regular colored fis"

Problem: Activator Not Starting

I copied the activator files to a freshly formatted SD card (FAT32), inserted it into the car after more than 5 minutes of running the MMI on the radio screen but nothing happens. The activator doesn't trigger or show up in any way (no color screens or reboots whatsoever).

As a (obvious) result, the maps on the SD card remain invalid, since activation hasn't taken place.

VCDS Coding Questions

I also saw in Congo’s documentation a step about enabling navigation via VCDS.
It’s been years since I last touched any coding, so I want to be cautious and only follow what’s strictly needed.
  • Since I don’t have AMI, I assume I just need to follow the VCDS steps as outlined, right?
  • Regarding the FIS map display: I don’t have a map-capable color FIS. From what I understand, I can skip that step, and the simple arrow navigation will still show on the standard display without extra coding. Is that correct?

Thanks in advance to anyone who might help me out!

Hi all, i've read of a new method fro installing or updating Grancenote2 and Radio Logo DB on a SD card.
I wish to ask @congo if that solution is reliable or could be reversed

For what i can assume being an IT PRO the script backup all unit, then install Navignore and POI, and later check for Radio Logo or Gracenote2 DB. But after the unit is patched no reversal scripts there apart for navignore. If i assume correctly, should be great to have installed the Gracenote DB on SD2 for bluetooth music logos, but i'm not sure if the scripts are working or need the be fixed for our purposes.

MHS2 Toolbox

Thanks in advance @congo

Hi guys, I have a 2018 Audi A3 etron with firmware version: MST_US_AU_P9118D MU Software: 0840. Having seen earlier in this thread that it is currently not supported by the Congo + Duke activator, what are options with regards to getting AA/CP into this unit (if it is possible at all with a software update/flash)?

I saw an aftermarket kit from Caramco Autokits for $199 which is shown as compatible with my model, is that something that people who have experience with would recommend?
