How do you deactivate or change the rev limiter on my Audi A5 3.0tdi 2009???

I hate how it just revs to 2500rpm !!!!

Anyone got a solution? I know it's a safety mechanism but I just want to revo my car to what ever I like !!!

thanks all :)

2500rpm??

It should rev up to the red line where it would hit the safety limiter.

Do you have auto transmission? Is it that its changing up at 2500rpm?
If so, put it in the sport box and it will rev a lot higher up the range.

The 3.0TDI isn't rev limited to 2,500, it's more like 4,500.

Has the car been remapped? This is where the restriction is programmed.

Post Bluefin my car has no rev restriction at all.

Ah, could be it. I certainly won't be attempting max revs on my car with no load, not good for the engine internals (hence the imposed limit I suppose).

Probably because the reciprocating mass of a diesel engine is much greater than that of a petrol engine. You don't want it letting go at 2,501 RPM as the bits would be spread across three counties!

My wifes old focus ST3 was limited in neutral also so not just diesels mate.
