Hi Guys,

I am a proud owner of Audi S5 2009.
My car's right headlight bulb went out. The dealership said it just needs a new light bulb (ballast, connection wires, etc) all checked out fine according to them.

I had tried Philips Original Equipment Xenon Standard 42302 D3S from Amazon twice but it's not working. I have read the review from Amazon that it worked on their A5s. Is this a wrong headlight bulb for my S5?

Anyone have any suggestion to which ones I should try? Where to buy them online?

I did that yesterday.
Left working light bulb to right headlight. Still not working.
Then I put it back into left headlight. Working.

SO it must be other problem. BUT the dealership service advisor assured me that other components of the headlight checked out fine. It just needs a new light bulb.

I guess he was wrong!

Ill tell you what about the bulbs on the S5, they are crazy expensive from Audi. I ordered an 08 S5 and when it was delivered the headlight was out. I got one from Audi in STL, MO and they wanted $220 for one bulb/ballast. However when I installed it it throws a code on my guages but thats a whole different issue. I used a buddies dealer code and ended up getting one side for $160 though.

However while up in PA for work I ordered all 6k HID bulbs/ballast, 6k foglights for only $180 for both sets from Amazon.com. I also got a really cool LED rear licnese plate lights and the whole bracket from there.
