Just wondered how it all works? I have 2 cables in my glove box. When I put the key in today it played music on the system which I guess is hard drive? The cable that's loose has got USB one end. If its built in how do you update it etc? I'm guessing I do have hdd as I have 2 sd slots under CD player and boot only seems to have b & o amp but I have sat nav etc

Loading the Jukebox (HDD)

IFIRC, loading (it's labeled IMPORT on the media menu) can be done either from the SD card slots or from the in-dash CD/DVD (that's the configuration I have, your mileage may vary). Files imported must be in a playable format (I use MP3 and Apple, which i think are M4a or some such). In other words, it won't rip discs for you, so you can't import from an Audio CD...

That's the short version, hope it helps...

Depending on the model you have, you may have the HDD in the boot. Try looking in the passenger side bulkhead panel (of a UK car!) in the boot. There will be a large HDD unit behind the panel. (I think it's 40GB but was told that 30GB is for satnav and you're best leaving the rest alone for fear of slowing the thing down. Just put music on an SD card, or play it from your iPod/iPhone if you have the AMI).

Hope that helps.

The usb cable in the glove box is for adding another USB drive, not for updating. You can add another HDD through this cable but it has to be formated in FAT32, I have a 400gb one in mine.
