Whats up Everyone, New to the Forum Here. Currently a owner of a 2010 S5 Cab, Just ordered a set of 20'' Vossen CV3's, 10.5's All around. Looking to lower the car a bit but i DO NOT want to ruin the ride at all, or least as possible. I have been looking through the Forum and seen many posts with people who have had both the Eibachs and H&R's on there Audis. Looks like Eibach are the way to go as H&R's seem to make the ride more stiff? Any feedback at all on which is the better fit? Not looking to spend $1000+ on coil overs so that is out of the question, Only looking to lower the car 1''-1.5 at the most.

Appreciate all the help, tks

Um, I don't believe the H&R springs give a more stiff ride than the Eibach's...I just know that the Eibach springs give a more conservative drop (1 inch front, 0.8 inch rear) than the H&R's. Otherwise, both are leading brands in the market so quality-wise, can't go wrong with either.

Thanks, im just going off what i am reading on here, i would like a little more of a drop than 1 inch so maybe the H&R springs are the way to go. But i have also read the back of the S5 Cabs sink lower than the fronts so that is another thing i am worried about.

Eibach's compare to the H&R OE spring...not sport. The OE's ride great and will drop your car nicely. The OE's drop 1" and retain a nice ride and the H&R sports drop about 1.3" and do firm up the ride. Can get you pics of this spring on an S5 if you like.

Thanks Mopsta, I'd really appreciate the pics and if you have the Link to where i can buy the OE's? I was on H&R's site and did not seem them.

Thanks again!

Love this shot and the drop looks spot on for what I'm looking for. Spacers finish it off perfectly too. Nice job!

Hope this doesnt sounds foolish, But why does everyone put spacers on there wheels? Wouldnt that stick the tires out and give more of a chance for the wheels to rub on the wheel well?

Scot, give them a few days and it will sit just as the white car does. Make sure and align after a few days.
Joe, spacers are used to give the car a more aggressive look. They are safe and will not rub at all with OE's and 20/25. May rub if you go really low or coilovers but not these setups.
Joe, to post pics...add them to say photobucket then copy the "direct link" from PB then simply paste into the image icon above. Remove the http:// first.

yeh, i will have the ride setup afterwords, my mate works a a tyre fitter, so laser allignment is free, and usually done once a month on my track car, and my run around. and it helps me get tyres at trade price :) although I've not priced some replacement Vreidsteins yet :/

ps, Jamie- not Scot- confusing i know haha

Nice setup and stance Sepang. I just ordered some 20" wheels and the H&R OE springs/spacers and was curious to see what it look like. Clean.

How's the ride?

This is with Eibachs and 19 inch BBSs

The angle is not the best possible, but I think you get the idea.

One more point. After you change the springs, it takes about a week for the car to drop to the final level.

When I first saw mine after the change, I though "wattahell", because the front seemed to be HIGHER than the rear, like a car with a fully loaded trunk. Then, within a week, gravity and the heavy V8 did the job))
