Had a letter from the dealership I bought my S5 from telling me that a ECU update has been released in the last couple of weeks and to book my car in for it.

Don't suppose anyone knows what this update is/does do they?

Managed to get hold of the original sender of the letter and it is for "3.0ltr. TFSI engines manufactured within a specific period where the engine warning light may come on even though catalytic convertors are working ok"

Was the letter from an Audi dealer or Audi UK? Are there any ID/reference numbers for the fault so that I can go back to my dealer/Audi UK to see if mine is affected.

Have you booked in to get your ECU updated?

Cheers

Sorry for the delay in response.

The letter was from the dealers and after contacting them they told me that the update came out after I took delivery of the car (so within last 3 weeks) and unfortunately I don't know any reference numbers.

Don't know the engine manufacturing period apart from mine so definitely 2013 models.

Haven't booked mine in yet as wanted to try and see what it would alter, but it may have to go in anyway for another issue (unless I can figure it out on here, so maybe another post later for the collective forum knowledge)

That's interesting... my S5 (Coupe not SB but same engine AFAIK) was in for a misfire problem at the end of April. Apart from changing the position of each of the spark plugs for diagnostics there was no ECU update at that time. It's gone back in today for an unrelated issue (annoying rattle in the door!) and I've been told that there is an ECU update available. I assume it is this one but did you ever work out what this was supposed to do/resolve?

Mine is also a 2013 one.

The code on my paperwork is for: Campaign 24C0 - Service guy just said it was to increase the range that tripped the warning light. Brain says the car is now slower, but then it says that every time I let them near it.

Hope you had more success with your rattle than I did with mine, they spent four hours going over the car and driving it and couldn't hear anything.

Half hour drive home for me and there it is :wall:

S5 was in for a service at the weekend and had the ECU update done. Correction to the catalytic converter was all they knew about the actual update.
