Again I would appreciate yr input on this topic, ther isa lot of expertise here among the members of this forum!

I know it is programmed that video stops once car starts moving but my dealer said there is a way to circumvent this and the answer is out there on "the internet". :help: Some extra device you need to install and you're good to go.

I'm not interested in watching video while driving but it I would be interesting to have this for my kids next to me.

Any ideas?

TY!

You sure can! This is called Video in Motion (VIM). Check out the topic on the excellent audienthusiast.com website. You will need a VAGCOM cable though. I personally have done this mod for the same exact reason as you. My kids love watching movies in my cabrio. The surround sound is pretty good too!

Note that here in the UK you would still get done for driving without due care if a copper saw you drive by with a video runnin - even if you aren't watching it, if there are moving images in your eyeline it still counts. What's the law like in Belgium?

Mmm good point, never heard of that here but not sure I will check that!

Vagcom cable is a item much spoken about. Where can one purchase that and what's the cost?

Thanks for the help so far guys, good to hear it's possible to do this!

Theres a great beginners guide here.

You will find some useful links for all you can accomplish with vagcom here, and a link to the manufacturer's website.

The USB cable (Ross-Tech Store: VCDS License with HEX-USB+CAN Interface) is $349, then just download the software. You will also need a laptop.
