Hi all, so I've owned my 2009 2.0L A5 diesel coupe, S-Line, Quattro in black since June 2016 and figured I should start my evolution thread to track the progress.

She was / is completely standard when I bought her so first thing was to give her a good clean and take some pics...

Since these were taken I've fitted stick on number plates to loose the screw caps and added some ice white number plate bulbs.

More exciting mods to come...:grin2:

Thanks for looking.

So I mentioned in other posts that my drivers window had dropped slightly causing annoying wind noise, and worse still it was no longer water tight. After managing to get a genuine regulator for around ÂŁ240, I found an Audi specialist that would fit it far ÂŁ80, however in the meantime I was offered an aftermarket regulator for ÂŁ40 so figured why not try it. Car went in Saturday for the work to be done, mechanic rings me up and tells that the car has recently been fitted with a genuine reg but not aligned properly, so he realigned it meaning I could return the other reg. So I've gone for a chunky bill to an ÂŁ80 repair bill. Happy days. :grin2:

I've also purchased a powerflex transmission insert from Smee which I'll fit this weekend (thanks again Lee).

I couldn't resist a cheeky performance upgrade too which I'll hopefully be fitting at the weekend too, more to follow. :autofahrer:

This past weekend I installed the powerflex transmission insert, the car seems to have developed quite a vibration when idling now, not sure I'm liking it.

Also I purchased a tuning box from DTUK and fitted that on Saturday as I felt the 2.0L diesel lump needed a little encouragement. The box claims a gain to between 215 and 225bhp with a chunky hike in torque too. Just playing about with the different settings now to get the result I'm after, supposed to be seeing a slight increase of the mpg too.

Problem now is, as I've itched the performance modding monkey, I'm looking for other ways to improve the drivability. 0:)

Not much has happened with the Audi for a while, the main thing was the repair when she had a bit of a wobble last month, but now the other car is sold and I have some expendable pennies to start putting towards the A5.

Alloys are still on the list, but tomorrow I'm hopefully taking a trip to a Revo dealer for some little bits, while there I'll be inquiring about tuning options available 0:) having quite an impulsive side at times, who knows where tomorrow could lead :grin2:

Going to get rear tints done very soon too.

Good start Lashed we want more!!!

Haha! I have noticed that modifying an Audi is not a cheap hobby, but then you get what you pay for I suppose.

I did get an insurance quote for an S5 yesterday just for a giggle, it was only slightly more than I'm paying for the diesel! :surprise: Must resist! :wall:

When it was first fitted, the top mount was pressing on the underside of the transaxle which gave the car a huge vibration issue, it was pretty horrendous! So removed the top section leaving the lower main part in place and it seemed to have stiffened up the gears a little.

If you're running a Quattro I'd suggest leaving the top part off, 2wd you should be fine. Definitely worth fitting as it only takes 30 minutes.

Car's getting picked up at 9am tomorrow for the tints to be done.

However, the engine warning light came on this morning. Going to swing by a garage on my way home tonight to see a mate with a diagnostic kit to hopefully find out what the issue is. Fingers crossed folks for a simple cheap fix. :wink2:

Window tints done!

So the guy picked my car up at 9am today and by 1pm her dropped her back off.

The work is 100% and makes a huge difference, I opted for the dark smoke tint which is as per factory finish.

The feel and quality is just outstanding, better than I could have hoped! Can't wait to fit it, although I will have to wait till the weekend to do so.

It was by Fly Design, the guy is very helpful, a true professional, can not rate him enough.

Thanks for looking, off to see what's next 0:)

loving that steering wheel, are they simple enough to fit? do they have to be coded in or is it just a straight swap?

Thanks Jack, yeah they're simple enough, took around 30 minutes. No coding required, just a straight swap out as long as you make sure you're swapping like for like. If you've currently got the square air bag like mine, and want to upgrade to the round one, there may be more involved. I did speak to one supplier could modify the new wheel to be plug and play.

One thing you will need to buy is an M12 spline bit to get the retaining bolt out, had to pop down Halfords to grab a set as you don't tend to get them in standard socket sets.

Looks great, the flat bottom is a game changer
Thanks, it's an instant and massive improvement, just loading up pics...

Flat bottom steeering wheel installed.

So set about installing my new flat bottom steering wheel, was easy enough to do as I had a YouTube video to follow but it really is straight forward.

Anyhoo, here's the before pic...

Little update from the weekend...

This past weekend I added some little upgrades that I felt the car needed.

Last week I received a couple of boxes containing goodies, namely a Pipercross panel filter and some Eibach 12mm spacers for the rear only

Image

You can see difference in filters, the new is so much thinner so should let air flow better and as the box says add "more power" >:)

And ones with the spacers fitted...

And of course gave her a good wash and detail, just love how the black looks after a going over!

I think it looks much better now, more proportioned. I know they're only little mods compared to some builds on here, but I feel sometimes the subtle mods make a big difference.

Still got loads on the mod list. :grin2:

Thanks for looking.
