Is there a reason why there aren't too many engine mods/performance upgrades for the a5 - particularly the 3.2 FSI??? In a month or two, there should be a flood of these cars in the US, a good market for potential car peformance companies.

Because other than a simple ECU remap, which, because the car is N/A, may get 20HP at most, any other upgrade would cost so much that the people who would be able to afford it, would have gotten an S5... just my 2 cents as to why this is true.

I would say partially due to the fact the car is so new that manufactures of after-market parts haven't had time to test their products on the car. I would look for mods to start coming out in middle 2008.

PES tuning will come with a supercharger for the 3.2 V6 FSI engine this summer.
Power gain between 98-121 hp based on there superchargers for the old 2.8 and 3.0 litre Audi V6 engines.

Sounds of a V6

I have spent most of my life with the booming masculine sound of a honking V8. (Sorry, Jen, I couldn't think of another word to explain the baritone sound of glass pack mufflers.) Even my Cayenne S has this head-turning music coming from the exhausts. I would love to give my A5 a more healthy sound. Listening to the Hondas and Toyotas with those coffee-can put-put noises is not for me. Is there a product on the market that will transform an A5 to a Wagner opera? I hope an A5 mod will turn my sweetie into a roaring beast.

Would an exhaust void warranty? I'm not sure how mod friendly Audi dealerships generally are.

I think it really comes down to the engine being brand new, and only used in a low-volume car. How many 3.2 FSIs are really out there driving around? Very very few.

Wait until the new A4 arrives. Audi will sell several times as many of that bread-and-butter model, giving the tuning market something to want to build for.

Isn't this engine used in the A3 3.2 S-Line Quattro? Of course, another low-volume car, I would expect, but that one has been on the U.S. market for a bit.

No, the A5's 3.2 FSI engine is not the same as the 3.2 FSI in the A3. It's an all new motor, not even built around the same block. The new engine's biggest difference is that it features Audi's Valvelift system.

The most simple way to get more power out off it, is putting on a Kompressor/Supercharger.
A supercharger on top in the V of the engine or a Kompressor on the airbox side of the engine.
Something like this.
