So I've had a developing whiring noise the last few weeks and a squeal under low rev load.
I thought it was Aux belt and wheel bearing, but after Audi checked it out, they told me there's some slight movement out of tolerance in my transmission plate, and that I might have a bearing going on my nsf drive shaft output.
Unfortunately, these noises can't be pinpointed so although these issues are identified, Audi dont know if either of these issues are serious enough to make a noise, and they couldn't be replicated in the ramp, just on a road test.
Does anyone have any experience with such issues?
For background: car is 3.0 TDI, tiptronic 140,000mi, both front driveshafts and main prop shaft replaced at 101,000mi. Driveshaft owing to CV joint failing, propshaft owing to central bearing failing.
Gearbox oil changed at 110,000 mi.
