I'm lookin to get some rims for my S5. I was lookin at these two and wanted to know what you guys thought.

Anyone know how much the stock S5 rims weigh? I'm pretty sure either of these two are gonna be lighter than the stock ones.

Go with HRE. I've heard nothing but good things, and after dealing with wheel companies like 360 I don't ever want to buy from a small company again who can't support their products.

The wheel on the left in 19" x 8.5 weigh 10,80 kg. Which is about 6kg lighter than stock. I know this because I considered the same wheels a while back and got in touch with BBS about the spec of them.

They also said that a 10mm spacer kit was also needed for these wheel.

Hope this helps.

19'' RGRs weigh 21.2lbs, if SAJ's numbers are right then the RGRs weight over 13lbs ligher than the stock wheel. I doubt the stock wheels weigh 34+ lbs each, that is STUPID heavy. However, regardless the BBS will be much lighter being a forged wheel. Reducing unsprung weight is HUGE from a performance standpoint.

Yeah thanks for the info. I didn't know about the spacer. TireRack says that the RGRs are 21.2 and the CXR are 24.4 lbs.

One question though. Why are some of the same rims different weights? Does the plating or paint on the wheel really add that much weight? The RGR Silver is an extra .3 lbs.

That is a great question...honestly I have no idea why silver paint would weigh more than diamond black paint. That is really strange...

Hello all,

Does this mean that stock S5 wheels weight (10.8+7)17kg? or 37lbs?!?! I find this very hard to believe and if so aftermarket wheels are first on my task.

Thanks!

I was told the S5 wheel was 17kg by a number of sellers on ebay who were sellinh the OEM wheels as they had to be weighed for shipping.

Tomorrow my stock wheels will come off when I put my forged ones back on so I will weigh them with the tyre on as I won't be taking the tyres off just yet. This will help clarify how much they weigh.

SAJ - I would most greatly appreciate that! Hopefully 17kg is the shipping weight and may be the wheels by themselves don't weight more than 30lbs... but then again, I guess these are cast wheels so they may weigh more than forged counterparts.

Thank you!
