LOL :D You got lucky this time! A guy's gotta eat breakfast ya know. Maybe I'll just have start skipping breakfast from now on, so I can keep up with you. ;)
I keep my coins in the dish in the glovebox door.
So in summary, we are not sure :D sorry I am not using the search effectively just yet...

I will get to thinking on what I will be using mine for or what mod can be crafted to make it more usefull
I thought it was an air vent, too cool your hand down from all the extreme shifting! :D

This vent is a sensor for inside air temperature, please NEVER put coins in it!

Thats what I suspected, I had some vents in my RS4 that monitor inside temp for the 'Auto' temperature regulation function on the Aircon... I looked through someone's manual today and there is no reference to it in there??

HA HA HA thank god I don't have my car yet!
I asked the same question at the dealer. It just a cover. It's because they have right hand drive in the UK. The parking break would be on other side.
So then, what is the final verdict? The other thread was convinced it is a coin holder, which to me, looks incredibly cheesy, tacky and dangerous. If it's just a cover, having those slots looks odd, but I guess it is possible. Where did this vent story come from?

Oh, and what does it say about this in the manual?
It's a WASAT4 emitter, and clearly working well on your models!

I look right through and could not find a reference to it??

Blackie,
I also checked with my dealer - who seemed well informed and quite certain - that this is for the interior temp. In RHD models with parking brake on right they probably just move this sensor to the left side. If it was just a cover why would it have foam in it. It would just be solid plastic.

Can this be moved to general topics section as it applies to all A5/S5's.
Good question. I'm not brave enought to open it up to see. Maybe my audi dealer was in High-sell mode and just made it up. I think he makes sense though. They just flip the PBrake and sensor depending on the build, like you said. There is no way that is a coin holder though... like the others joked around.

Good point. Done!

I'll take A5NJ's word on it! I think if it’s for coins, then that would look pretty tacky.

And where is the microphone for hands free? Just want to make sure before I go sticking stuff in that. ;)

I believe it's in the map light cluster
This car has nothing to do with coins, it's all bills(which are well worth the effort). It would be larger if it was for dollars or pounds or kruegerands.
