Alright so I ordered my s5

Phantom/Magam/Carbon

-I got tech with nav
-Audi Drive select
-Tiptronic
-B&O

and im just wondering what options i left out (nothing else was offered to me-except advanced cruise control)

ive read stuff about MMI(low and high)----do i have to specify?

or advanced key(i think is included in tech package right?)

and what other option wasnt i offered that i should question getting or not?

hahaha-thanks-stressful day-but that chuckle helped..........i wish i could get the 6spd--although im not so great at it i could learn-but i do a lot of driving between nj/brooklyn/and ny---which includes hours and hours of traffic-so the 6spd just isnt practical for me----would have loved s-tronic-but i guess i'll just have to do without
RE: What did I leave out?

In case it is an important feature to you xxkazxx, be sure to ask whether the "electronically folding [outside] mirrors" is included in one of the various packages. I obviously did not ask enough times and didn't get that option - rediculous really, my S5 is loaded. . . .:(

My understanding is that those are not available on 2009 US spec A5/S5s.
the folding mirror's were removed in 2009 s5's, they were standard on 2008's
Folding Mirrors

So that's what happened!!!! That's a pisser. . . .thanks for the clarification though PLD7. I can't help but wonder why? Pointless I guess. . . .
how bout black head liner?

thats one option that im glad i found out about.
what color is it otherwise???? grey? and how much does black cost?

and anyone know anything about the MMI high/low---(not that i know what it mean or anything-but im guessing i want high-or the mmi 3g if its available when mine is built)
for instance----

(in hawkiS5's profile) he lists---Phantom Black | Black Nappa leather | Silver Headlining | RVS Inlay| B & O | MMI High v5170 | Audi Music Interface | Freecom XXS 320Gb HDD| Nav Plus| Memory seats/mirrors | Xenon Plus | Bluetooth | Light Pack | Heated front seats | Parking Plus | Advanced Key | Cruise | Storage Pack

by HAWKiS5

whats xenon plus, advanced ket, storage, parking plus, nav plus

whats with all the plus-are they improvements on the regular nav, parking, and xenon?

or is he just listing the stuff thats already included in the packages i mentioned lol

and whats the diff between mmi high vs low

The euro spec 5's have many more option combos than the U.S. spec cars.

On the U.S. spec's its either all standard or not available to choose (eg. MMI high or low) you simply just get the equivilent of high I believe.

If you wanted to you could probably compare the options from the audiusa.com site to the audi UK site;

^ very helpful-now im just wondering which parking system we have---if we have the option for heated rear "seats", and cupholders and such-i guess if it isnt offered i cant get it anyways-so i'll just wait and see lol
xxxkazxx... you chose every option available in the US except laser cruise control, so no need to worry. There are TONS (I counted at least 13) of options available in other countries that are not available here, but we also get a lot of their options as standard and we don't have to pay as much, so I guess it works out in the end. So, if you are sure about the colors you chose and that you don't want laser cruise control, then there is nothing to worry about, except maybe MMI 3G, which may or may not be in your car depending on when Audi decides to start putting them in US spec A5s and S5s. I feel that the MMI 3G should have been released on the S5/A5, or at least on the A4 and all 2009 models, because, for the A4 especially, you are gonna have a few months of early production of a car (which already lowers resale) which are going to have the 2G MMI, and then after those few months, it will have the 3G MMI. If I went to Audi and bought a loaded A4, and 3 months later, I find out that Audi has already changed a major part of what I thought was a brand new vehicle, I would be mega pissed. Part of me wants to cancel my order and wait for the 3G MMI, but no one knows, in the US at least, for sure when Audi will put it in the A5/S5, and it could take a full year until the 2010 model, and then, that will put me one year closer to an S5 facelift... so I decided to stick with my car, especially since the only feature I really care about that is coming, apparently, to the US 3G MMI is traffic, and I have traffic on my iPhone, so I can look at it there if I am planning any trips that may have traffic on it.

my other question is the voice control-is there an advanced voice control for the us-spec or is voice control just voice control lol

As I said, you clicked off every option. The voice control you get is, unless Audi changes it, the same voice control everyone in the US gets who ordered MMI NAV.

I understand and respect your reasoning/choice, but personally, as someone near your age, I could not live with myself if I got an S5 auto, even though I live in one of the most congested areas in the US or the world (New York City), like you do. That however, is just my personal opinion, but I do think that the ability to drive a manual should be mandatory, or at least every man should know how to (and I am not saying you don't, once again just stating my opinion).

Sure, rent a beater and I will teach you :D

Seriously though, if you have a friend who wont mind letting you borrow a 6speed or if you can rent one, I'd be more than happy to teach you on it, just not on my car, lol.

lol thats the thing! none of my friends drive stick... im thinking about renting one but its pretty hard to find a manual transmission rental car in NY.
what me and my friend did was we'd buy a car for like 200-300$ stickshift-and just beat it as much as we could until it died-and then destroy it completely lol-race around his property as much as we could(he owned a garbage/carting company so he had a huge lot)---lol-play bumper cars, throw rocks at each other, paintball wars(in cars)-hit stuff we'd find in the garbage-goodtimes-but thats how i learned to drive lol(all that at 12yrs old)----

but yea-i can drive stick-just not well enough that i trust myself with a $62k 6spd car lol
