I would just like to say thanks to all of the people that have put up threads on how to do all the various VagCom mods to the A5. I just finished doing the following:

Ambient lighting; video in motion; auxiliary fan; seat belt chime off; remote windows with key fob; double beep to unlock; seat memory with key(didn't work due to the wrong seats, but it is listed in the MMI)

They all work perfectly so far and were easy to do thanks to all the step by step instructions. For all you guys out there that might be a little uneasy in messing with the cars computer, it really isn't that hard at all.

If anyone lives in the Dallas area and would like help doing some VagCom modes PM me and I will give you the contact I have that helped me.:cheers:

Yes, you can supply a quick guide for all of those changes.

Most I have not been able to find.

Thanks

vag com is great, but now i don't know what else to do with it. got it yesterday and did the following today, video in motion, ambient lighting, remote windows and sunroof, battery level indicator, disabled amber lights, full brightness on drl while parking lights are on, adjusted level of drl when headlights are on to 35, default for adaptive drive changed, drl does not turn off when blinkers are on. anything else anyone can think of?
The video-in-motion thing... did you have to buy extra stuff to actually make it play dvd's? I don't know if mine is even capable of it... i doubt it as it doesn't say DVD anywhere.

It's an 09 S5 prestige
if you have nav with the dvd player, it works with nothing extra. just go to this link and it will explain everything you have to do for the video in motion: http://trick77.com/2009/07/18/enable-vim-tv-playback-vcds-vag-com-mmi/

for the other poster, here is a comprehensive list of mods for the vag com: http://a6retrofit.tripod.com/articles/a5vagcodes.html

this one has not yet been added to the a6retrofit page, but works great: http://www.a5oc.com/forums/showthre...s-drl-12001/index.html?t=12001&highlight=code

everything on here worked like a charm.
I have NAV, but i don't know if i have the DVD player or any of that other stuff... how do i check? That would be great if it already came with it...

Put a DVD in the media slot behind the drop down cover, if it plays you have a DVD player, if it doesn't you don't.

Cheers
Well my Nav drive is in the back... up front it just says audi 6 disk changer or something.
^ sorry, no good. dvd player has to be in the front
VagCom for Mac

Has anyone used Vagcom with a Mac laptop (vs PC)?

I haven't done it personally, but based on threads posted in the Vag-Com forums on AudiWorld and/or Quattroworld it seems to work fine as a Windows application running under Boot Camp. Ross-Tech doesn't support it, so don't expect technnical help from them.
MattsS5,
Haven't tried what ChipB referred to either, that's why I'm using the good old windows laptop. Worth firing off a message to Ross-Tech to request Mac applications as in the long run it will throw a wider net for prospective customers!

I've used it with a windows 7 image running in vmware fusion with no issues :0)
yeah what Nino said... no problem using software via VMWare or Parallels
i have a couple questions if anyone can help:

1. on a convertible, can you set this to allow the top to go down with the fob? and there is a code to make the seats have memory with the fob?

2. do i definitely need this if im converting my halogen headlights to the xenon/led drl setup?

Of course not, running windows on a Mac via bootcamp or similar, is just the same as a "normal" windows pc.
But I don't wanna "infect" my Mac with windows, so please make a version for OSX. There's gotta be a market for that.
