I would just like to say thanks to all of the people that have put up threads on how to do all the various VagCom mods to the A5. I just finished doing the following:

Ambient lighting; video in motion; auxiliary fan; seat belt chime off; remote windows with key fob; double beep to unlock; seat memory with key(didn't work due to the wrong seats, but it is listed in the MMI)

They all work perfectly so far and were easy to do thanks to all the step by step instructions. For all you guys out there that might be a little uneasy in messing with the cars computer, it really isn't that hard at all.

If anyone lives in the Dallas area and would like help doing some VagCom modes PM me and I will give you the contact I have that helped me.:cheers:

Kinda of like unlocking the safe and discovering how much this car has in the vault! Couldn't agree more...some great help from fellow enthusiasts like C99, loc, Mulski, zee007 to name of few from a very big list. The discovery continues, making it all that more fun to own, learn and drive!

I can't agree more :)
that's why I simply don't understand why many, many enthausiastic Audi drivers/owners don't have a Vag-Com cable.
you can enjoy yr car so much more.
and you can help others living near by.

It should come with the car... I must get one in a few months - I had something like this for the RX-8 - it was fun, and the RX-8 didn't have anywhere near the same things to play with as this car does..

Were you guys all boy racers in your early days??

The A5 is an upper class GT, it makes me laugh to see y'all getting revved up over ambient lighting, auxiliary fan and turning the seat belt chime off..

However, keep it coming. Oh and please let me know when someone finds the code to unlock and reveal the coffee maker thats lurking behind the dash!

I would hardly say that I was a "boy racer" since I grew up in a crappy neighborhood and drove a VW bus and an '84 Caviler when I was in my teens and early twenties....only 28 now. I'm just simply saying that it is nice to have a car where I can set a timer and have the air recycled before I get in. I live in Texas in if you didn't know, it gets pretty freaking hot down here. Since my boss rides around with me sometime and refuses to buckle up, it is nice not having a stupid chime go off while he is with me. He doesn't care, because he can't hear it.

vag com is great, but now i don't know what else to do with it. got it yesterday and did the following today, video in motion, ambient lighting, remote windows and sunroof, battery level indicator, disabled amber lights, full brightness on drl while parking lights are on, adjusted level of drl when headlights are on to 35, default for adaptive drive changed, drl does not turn off when blinkers are on. anything else anyone can think of?
