Audi A5 Convertible Dec 17:
Page 100 “Starting the engine after a malfunction”
Presented with message: “Remote control key: hold back of key against marked area. See owner’s manual” ......but nothing happens!
Marked area is inside centre console stowage box at the rear.
Questions:
1. Where is requisite ‘radiating’ keylamp displayed? (Fig. 110)
2. Is the “...back of key” the reverse side of the lock/unlock key fob?
3. What could I be doing incorrectly?

On my 2018 it’s on the door side of the column shroud.

It’s definitely in my centre console on my ‘17; it’s just that I can’t get it to work.

Interesting... I’m sure it’s at the front of the centre console cubby on my ‘18 plate?! Are you sure the mat isn’t in the wrong way around?

Looks identical either end underneath the rubber mat. Don’t suppose I can try it with the battery removed from the key (as if flat) so difficult to tell whether that is the solution. Any ideas how one might test it?

Interesting that yours is at the front of the console cubby though.
