Sounds like a good idea to me. I'd be interested to get an idea of the depreciation rate so I get maximum value before buying the next one.
Used Car Values
I know all, or at least the moral majority of us, love our 5's. However, should any of us want to upgrade or change our ride, there is nothing in Kelley or Edmunds to reference a value for our cars. Looking at those two most popular reference sites they don't even show the A5/S5 as a 2007 or 2008
Audi model.
That being the case, do we want to open a thread or topic of sales value or price to give others some reference point? I have looked at the above sites numerous times and the values I have sold or bought at have differed immensely.
I know we don't want to make public any transactions between participants of this site, but we could help each other get some sort of idea what is a reasonable value of our cars when we do sell them.
Just kind of thinking out loud. I have thick skin so let's hear it.

I check on Ebay motors.Most of used S5 with range 5,000-10,000 miles are almost like buying a new one (Avg.$55,000).So,I think our S5 will be same value as Porshe Carrera or Dodge Viper.That`s my opinion.
I traded my 08 S5 in for 09 S5. I had 18,500 miles on it. All features with Phantom black/black stainless steel. Essentially new OEM tires since I ran Michelin Pilot A/S on it. I got 49,500 trade in for it and my dealer sold it for just over 53,000 after doing an Audi certification warranty to 100,000 on it as well.

I think this may be difficult in the 'credit crunch' UK at the moment!
Also difficult longer term I think.Certainly when trading the A5/S5 in the UK they are likely to be 'expectations' of particular options on particular models, for example a base spec S5 (No Nav,No B&O) appears to be selling for significantly less than a better spec'd model.
This may not be the same with cheaper/smaller engined versions but most S5 3.0Tdi are selling with Nav,Phone, B&O and at least 19in wheels.
