I'm just planning ahead really as I would hope my tyres aren't even half worn as yet (6500 miles in 3 months so far), but thought I'd get a price on the tyres - 255/35R19 on the Y-spoke optional wheels I've got on my car.

Best I found was from the company I usually go to down here in the South West - Bathwick Tyres in Yeovil quoted £170.97 each fitted & balanced for Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetrics. Michelin Pilot Sports were my other preferred option, but they're over £220 per corner, so think they're too expensive.

Has anyone else in the UK got a price on this size of tyre? I'm looking for a reputable make, and although the standard Dunlops seem pretty good, I would think that I could get better. Basically, if I can get them cheaper from pretty much anywhere then I'm sure Bathwick will match that price.

£170.97 is brilliant for F1 Asymmetrics and thats with fitting and balancing. Just brilliant

I like the look of the tread pattern on these

That includes VAT and delivery but not fitting so probably will work out the same in the end, just incase you prefered a different look of tyre.

I've used Event for the last 2 years, and can't really fault them.

Anyone experienced Kumho tyres before..........cheap and nasty ........or ok? Would you put them on your 19" Rims?

I have always found Protyre excellent. www.protyre.co.uk

Used to be Micheldever tyres (near Winchester) specialist racing tyres, Protyre now have branches all over the country. I am not on their paybill, just a satisfied customer although a huge discount when I need my 255/35 x 19's for new car a big discount would be good. I highly rae Continentals, and Michelin, regretably I've got Dunlops but apparently the new ones are great. Watch this space.

Just to say my piece - I find Vredestein Ultrac to have truly excellent grip especially in the wet. Thats what Vredestein pride themselves on I believe but I have used them a lot and I must say that they seem awfully soft and dont tend to last very long. Works out quite costly in long run but fantastic grip!

I once fitted a pair of 17" Khumo's on the front of my 1.8T A4 Cab - never again. Uneaven wear with one tyre lasting 3000 miles less than the other and the wear even not being even across the tyre (car checked out and future tyres proved this not to be an alignment issue). Maybe I got a bad tyre but I'd not risk it again.

Shame about the wear on the Vredestein Ultrac, they were quite high up my list. Thinking I mght be better off in the long run and splashing out on the Michelin Pilot Sport, anyone had these??

I've used Event Mobile for about the 3-4 years now, no complaints and usually can't beat the price, they'll come to home, work wherever and you can pay by card as normal.
