I spent a couple of night sleeping in the car when touring Spain......It's no camper van....Now I'm twisted.

hilly10 - do you really mean 48.8 or should this be 38.8? This seems very high compared with other comments re the 2.7tdi, although I have a 2.7 on order I'm getting cold feet over the diesel/petrol price differential and am seriously considering cancelling the order and waiting for the 2.0t multitronic (November according to the French Audi site) But if 48.8 is achievable then I'll probably stick with the diesel.

Having just done around 4k miles my fuel consuption was in the high 30s, however I attained speeds well in excess of everyday driving Won't say oin here what those speeds were but the book quote is about right

If you were to tootle around at 70 then I'm sure mid 40's would be about right. I guess if you turn off the engine and roll down hills 50 is possible but if thats the case then maybe a punto would be better suited !!!!

Those figures sound very good hilly10, thanks for the feedback - appreciated. I'll be taking my A5, when I get it, to France regularly so looking forward to the empty, smooth motorways and some of the challenging 'B' roads (and the wine, food, sunshine, beaches............!)

Don't forget your wallet !!!!!! Just got back and mine is now well and trully empty.

2 pints in bordoux (Spelling) 14 euro's, 2 pints in orleans 13.4 euro's. I would book an hotel next to a supermarket and drink in the car park !!!
