Hi guys,

I'm new to this foroum so please go easy on me as this is my first post.

I just bought an 2008 Audi A5 and its got a standard concert stereo. The subwoofer sounds like its damaged

So I just wondered if i can swap all the speakers with B&O speakers as I found a salvage yard near me who is currently selling all the speakers.


Is it possible and what modules or wiring would i need to make it happen????

I havent got satnav or dvd changer so I take it my car hasnt got mmi (

depending on what price you are getting them for, it may be worth your while to go non B&O.
just because they are the upgraded sound system in the car doesn't mean the are the greatest of great.
same thing goes with the subwoofer

I don't think it's just the speakers to get B&O there is an additional amplifier. Of course that doesn't mean they won't work but you won't get instant B&O sound quality.

Also as mentioned above - It isn't the greatest.

I'm getting all the speakers for about £250. I take it to install the B&O amplifier as well I'll need to change the whole speaker wiring and door modules.

As according to the this blog

Does anyone how hard will it be to change the standard amp with a B&O amp??

Read with interest the above posts... just got a 2012 cab S Line with standard sound. I don't know if I am disapointed with the quality or I just need to set it up better. I don't want to install amps etc but is there mileage in just changing speakers and if so which ones should I look at..

morning Duke, depends on what you are used to and what you listen to I guess.
Best bet is to fine tune it using a cd or file on the sd that you really like. also depends on how far back your seats are, as all the volume as standard (and most of the speaker units) is up front. The sub is pretty typical of a standard fit unit, it just fills in the overall sound with a bit more bass, it will not tickle your kidneys. a good car audio specialist could probably make a huge difference by dropping a discrete 5 channel amp in, replacing the speakers and adding a proper sub. A potential short cut if you don't mind more of the sound coming from the back would be to run a small 2 channel amp off the head unit feeding replacement speakers in the back, fit tweeters into the empty slots and replace the midrange cones with meaty bass/mid range 2 way units. up to you if you tried to do this yourself, personally I wouldn't because I am rubbish at getting trim off and on again without damaging clips. Especially with a new car!

and I know you said you didn't want to add amps, but in my experience whilst changing the speakers for alpine/pioneer/panasonic will help, the standard amp will need replacing or supplementing to make a significant difference.
