Okay here you go-be ready to cough up $ 17,000 for the APR plus DXD plus labour. That is if you get an APR authorized installer. If not it could be way more. I don't have a 0-60 time but I can tell you that this is no longer the same car. A regular S5 wouldn't stand a chance beside it and I can't think of many cars that would. If you're a talented driver there wouldn't be much on the road that you came across that would give you a hard time-I would bet its better than under 4 seconds and that is being conservative.

I'm not sure where you heard that the APR kit can be done in an hour but I would bet that that is not possible, there is the plumbing, removal of the bumper at least in service mode. taking off the intake, installing the blower, installing the secondary radiator filling the radiator, checking for leaks- I saw a time condensed you tube vide in an hour but as I said that was time condensed. Then there was the dropping of the tranny and installing the Dxd clutch disc that was another 9 hours. That is where the additional 3k comes from and when that is done be prepared to drop another 3500 on a gift gor the wife so you can zoom around without any lip when you get home!

yea i think we were watching the same video, did not realize you were factoring in a clutch as well, that clearly amps up the install time, as for the supercharger itself, i can't see that taking more than 2 hours to toss on, the bumper coming off is not too long and everything else per the video seems to be over in the engine bay

I think the estimate was 13 hours and I believe they were done quicker but thats how they make their money. There isn't much profit on the actual kit so there needs to be some profit somewhere and that is on the install. Oh yeah lets not forget the software which should be quick but If it were my car I would want them to take their time and get this one right. Getting it wrong could be a real sh-t storm. I know a guy who's car isn't running well using a competitors kit and he had to go out and buy a second car. Not my idead of a mod that went smoothly.

That's a lot of money spent and I'm happy for anyone who can afford the luxury of the current crop of SC Kits available for the S5 but I'm trying to understand why they are 2x as much has the kits by companies like Paxton or Vortex or STS(turbo)? Is it Production volume, engineering, or materials???

So an upgrade to the clutch is required? Or is the tranny removed to install the supercharger? I know a inter cooler is almost mandatory, and you might as well upgrade the exhaust while you're at it? 600+ hp is realistic? There's probably software upgrades required too? Great discussion!

Tranny was removed because I upgraded the clutch as per reccomendation by many knowledgable people. I believe when you see how well the kit fits and performs all doubts will be gone. Was it costly. Yes very was it worth it. Oh yes. I spent money on a ecu upgrade originally and spent a lot of time wondering if I felt a difference. There is no doubt this is a whole different story.

600+HP is likely with the tts supercharger but a clutch is slowly going to move from accessory mod, to mandatory mod.

the apr you get less power, but apr is known for being reliable and operating within the what the components can really take

All of what mr shickadance is true, the tts system has been reporting some amazing gains however his last post sort of implied that the apr system was safe(which it is) but also very powerful just nit reporting the same overall horse increase. Make no mistake if you pulled up next to a car that has had the same upgrade as mine be prepared to watch as his tai lights become something far off in the distance. This car is violent.

I rode in and drove this car the other day, and I can without hesitation say that the power in this car is BRUTAL. I have a regular S5 with exhaust and intake, and almosts50's car was simply a night and day difference. Words cannot explain the sheer power the car had, it seemed never ending in every gear. If I had the money to spend, I would definitely go for it, I honestly wasnt expecting such a huge difference!!!

right, i should have made it more clear, both systems deliver well over an additional 100HP to you ride. the APR system is NOT to be taken lightly

What do you mean? I love it! Just curious about performance increases if I have some cash lying around. Doing some other research, looks like you can add 200+ hp at 7200 rpm, and get the 0-60 down to 3.8 seconds. I'm not sure about the gas consumption increase though!

The gas consumption only really rises because once you feel the power it's hard not to get on it more often. Presumably like lying naked next to a naked supermodel it's obvious what happens! Honestly it takes a car that is great and makes it unreal. Do your research and try to line up some seat time in a sc S5 and the next step is just coming up with the dough
