Speaker upgrade for B8.5 RS5 Cab

Hello,

I have been searching here and other forums but cannot seem to find a definitive answer. I have a 2014 RS5 Cab that has the B&O system with 3G MMI+ and I am looking to just upgrade the speakers starting with the doors first. I have read the Audison Prima 8 are good speakers that add bass and am thinking of going wth these, but wanted to know if I need an additional spacer to make them fit. Any help and other recommendations would be welcomed. Thanks in advance.

I've done this upgrade, the prima 8 is the way to go. You will need an adaptor to mount, Basser online does a great mdf spacer to mount it.

Other tips are to dynamat the door while the car is off and also the door card itself, anywhere you can fit dynamat, both sides of door plus the door card.

Connection wise I just cut the factory connector and run a wire from the prima 8 through the spacer with small hole (don't forget to seal it up and then connect to factory stripped wires.

Next tip is to apply some silicone gasket glue to spacer so it seals against the door and also apply some 1/2" thick foam circles around the top of spacer so it seals against the door card.

I did the whole job in about 4 hours.

After about 3 months of running the speakers improve to the point you get great mid bass and almost extends into the sub range (blends really well with factory system)..

Thanks for the info. I looked at Bassers site and it seems like the adapters are out of stock right now but I will keep an eye out for when they are back in stock. I also messaged them about their fit-box sub enclosure to see if it would fit the Cabriolet as I know the trunck is a bit different that the sportback.

Plastic, but if you dynamat them both sides they are just as good as the mdf ones.
