I have no clue. GMG was supposed to come out w/their custom carbon fiber intake kit, however, it's been put on hold indefinitely. I don't know of anyone else. To date, it seems those that have mod'd them, have done so to the stock.

I'm sure if there is a kit out there, someone will chime up and let you (and me) know where to cop them.
BMC air filters have just released a cold air intake...if you buy one please report back to us on the sound, throttle response, and HP differences :)

Nice one, that's my next MOD.

Awesomeness! :)
There's a few different ones on the website, which is the exact part number?

Code:
533/08 priced at $259.55

I'm holding off on order because I am not confident in the box design and placement...ideally, the best place to feed air would be lower/bottom portion of the engine bay where there is less heat soak right? (hot air rises, cooler air sinks)
Anyone who tries this please let us know how it goes.
Aug 14th 2008 Update:
1. A GMG carbon intake is somewhat in development. They are only going to produce this component if it garners any performance gains.

2. GruppeM has not planned anything for development.

I am talking to the UK distributor for BMC, Italy is now on vacation until the end of August so they cant get me one for 3 weeks plus! I am discussing fitting with them as it will be the first one they have sold in the UK and they could do with some pics, they are only down the road form my office in Silverstone.. (based at the race circuit)

£118.60 inc VAT....

Jason,

You can count me in for a purchase, and I'm 99% certain Ess5, Manor and Doubledoom will be candidates... so if there's a group buy opportunity...

Further to this, I'd want APS to fit/test/check ideally, even though it's a simple/replacement modification I've done several times before... I'd be happier from a warranty and performance perspective.

Ian.
Ian,

I am exchanging emails with them today, obviously just both them and APS are just up the road from me, I can nip car to both... that way can get the map checked also... if the car is breathing better as a result it will show up on data logging via vagcom, I will do some before and after data runs and talk to Ed also..

Bugger, got myself into another group buy :D

Jason
Yup, count me in - running out of things to do to it at present! Thanks for volunteering to be the guinea-pig in this Jason.

Things move fast as always... I have managed to get 15% off the price above if we order 5 :D, Might even be able to convince them a flat £100 is about right...

Great work Jason! Thanks

...Ess5... WHAT have we started???

;)
Has it been tested and any performance/sound gains/changes from the stock?
i'll wait to find out what the results are, i only want it if it improves the sound.

Picked mine up at FarnbacherLoles last week and installed it today. It is NOT a CAI but instead a replacement drop-in filter (albeit a venturi-style v. the factory round version with an end cap). Will report back after a few days with my feelings on changes in intake noise and performance. Peter @ FarnbacherLoles feels it should provide approximately three HP over stock.

...The BMC is just a replacement filter not an intake unit?

Jason... I had assumed it was an intake unit... what's your understanding?
