Side Assist connectors (part of wing mirror)

I'm about to try and retro fit side assist. I currently have folding and dimming wing mirrors. Rather than buy complete new mirror units, does any one have the following available:

1) pre face lift mirror housing with side assist cutout (left and right)
2) side assist warning lights (left and right)

Audi do not supply the connectors that form part of the wing mirror harness. Does anyone have the connectors that attached to the side assist warning lights or the extra connectors on the door side of the wing mirror harness?

Hi d*n,

Brave man!

Firstly (and to prevent raising your hopes!), unfortunately I don't have any of the hardware parts you require. The connectors shouldn't be a problem as you'll be running new wiring for the installation and can therefore use any connectors you choose. I have used AMP Superseal in the past as they are waterproof and are fairly cheap (eBay is a good source).

I know you have access to ETKA and ElsaWin so I'm sure you'll be aware that this is a big retrofit; I'm not sure anyone else has bitten the bullet. Don't forget that there are two control units (radar sensors) in the rear bumper that need fitting, wiring, coding and calibrating as well as the mirror fittings themselves.

I always admire a pathfinder ;). Let us know how you get on.

David
Not sure anyone else has... pfft, David, how could you say such a thing  :)

Ooops ...... mmm ...... ah, yes, I didn't actually finish the sentence!

What I meant to say was, "I'm not sure anyone else has bitten the bullet, although someone with exceptional knowledge and ability might well have done so".

I'm now going to tuck into my humble pie.

David
that's good to know.

I have most of the parts now, just need to source the male and female terminals for the A-pillar connector (T27a and T27c). The repair wires are £8 each! I've discovered that parking sensor connectors and rear view mirror connector use the same terminals.

RS, Farnell, Maplins and TE Electric don't have anything close.

Has anyone been successful in sourcing a supplier?
that's good to know.

I have most of the parts now, ....
Then the epithet applies to you too! :2thumbsup:

I hope you find the remaining parts OK.

Regards,
David. :)
Anyone know what the difference is between the LHD and RHD side assist warning lamps (that fit in the mirror cap)?
The mirror caps are identical, so its not to do with the shape of the lamp.
The description of side assist doesn't mention anything specific for the drives side only.
