Anybody have any luck with any shift knobs that can decrease the shift? I had a "Whalen Shift Machine" (www.whalenshiftmachine) on my old BMW and it decreased the throw of the shift dramatically, as it was a shorter shiftknob and it was also heavy. Would be nice to have something comparable on the S5.

Any ideas without having to actually change the full shifter?

I read somewhere on this forum that the S5 already has a shorter shift than the standard. Do you own an S5 yet?

Yes I do. Picked mine up in November. It still isn't as short as it could be, there is a lot of 'excess' with the large shift knob.

I realize you are asking the question about short shifters, but have you identified anyone who is even working on a solution? I think the S5 has a great throw, but as every great toy, it could be better

the short shifter i put in my B5 S4 was from UUC Motorwerks, but it seems they're exclusively BMW/MINI now.. that's too bad, it was a great shifter..
