Hi all.
I have a 2008 s5 coupe. I noticed that the boot liner was damp against the boot lid.
Checked all boot and found o/s n/s wheel wells. damp but not soaking. Cleaned out and made sure fuses and amp etc ok.
Removed the rest of the boot liner and water poured out of the off side tail light when I lifted the boot up.
Dried out with hair dryer and removed light unit. Re sealed and fitted extra sealant , fitted back.
Checked after heavy rain and water poured out again.
Removed light again and added some weather proof seals to it.
Full of water again after heavy rain. Anybody else suffering the same?

There should be a drain hole there somewhere, first check if it is not clogged up. I had a water leak in the trunk/boot that seemed to be coming from the tail lights not sealing properly. It had been leaking over the spoiler control module and destroyed the unit as water also got inside.

After half a day struggling with a garden hose and the trim in the boot removed I finally tracked the leak down to the trunk-seal. The rubber should wrap tightly around the metal strip that sticks out from the trunk. Mine had too much play and when you pour water on the rear window it managed to pass underneath the rubber seal. Once inside it would show up in all kind of random places that happened to be the lowest point. It took me quite a while to track the origins of those leaks to the main trunk seal. I temporarily fixed it by taking a pair of pliers and squeeze the metal that is inside the rubber back into shape. I put a thin layer of grease on the seal and put it back and the leak was gone. Once I confirmed the leak was gone I ordered a new seal from Audi, just to be sure.
