Hi all,
I'm a first-time Audi owner and just picked up a 2010 S5 with manual tansmission last week.
I love most everything about the car, but find that throttle responsiveness is lacking unless I hammer the pedal.
In particular, I'm used to rolling starts in 2nd gear when on roads with multiple stop signs in a row. The car's 2nd gear seems really slugish at rolling speeds. (Getting shifter into first gear is also sometimes a task, but that's another issue).
I'm not into tuning production cars really, but any feedback on throttle response improvements would be appreciated. Specifically, if technology like the Sprint Booster from Pfaff Tuning would improve this lag feel that I'm getting?
Looking forward to enjoying this ride for my second week & thanks in advance for any advice provided.

Simply answer to this one ... One of the biggest improvement that a remap provides the S5 is hugely improved throttle response and torque pick up from low revs. Will sort out all your probs!

I agree with Spinner but the Sprint Booster is a sure-fire fix for a "laggy throttle". The car isn't (obviously) any faster because of it but for part-throttle driving, it does make it more enjoyable due to the increased throttle opening at a given accelerator position.

any warranty issues?

Thank you both for your advice.
I think I may try the booster.
QuattroWerks, any idea if adding a booster has any negative impact on warranties (in Canada)?
Are you using Sprint Booster yourself? Any brand, other than this one that you would recommend?
Lastly, Do these boosters require an install and if so, how much on average to get the system set up?
Thanks again for the feedback. Loving every minute in this car!

See my sig - I do have this on my car and have been running it for some time now. It takes all of five minutes to install and is easily removed/installed before and after dealer visits (no tools necessary).

That's a great sounding unit to have. I'd be interested in this on the A5 3.2 since it is my first DBW car so I was a bit deflated by the lag between pedal depression to response. I didn't realize it's simply the pedal module. I tend to just shove it into "S" when I want better response - which bring me to the next point: so does this mean "S"ports mode will experience a quicker response as well?

And where about is the pedal module? Any pics?

You need to slide your seat all the way back and lay on your back in the footwell. As you look up into the top of the pedal array with your head essentially touching the pedals, you will see the harness which connects to the throttle module. Disconnect the harness, insert it into one end of the Sprint Booster and then connect the Sprint Booster into the throttle module.
